Also, fun little fact: in America, you pull over to the right lane. In Canada, apparently, you pull over to the left lane. We learned this the hard way in Vancouver once, as we played Dances with Ambulances trying to figure out why we were the only ones pulling over to the right...
NOOOO at least in Ontario and Quebec, you NEVER pull over on the left. I got in HUGE trouble for doing that once as a new driver. ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS pull over on the right unless you KNOW it to be acceptable to do otherwise.
I just looked it up....in my state, failure to yield to an emergency vehicle is a $100 fine, but "willful obstruction" of an emergency vehicle is a criminal offense punishable by 3 months in jail.
