  • Wrong Way

Anyone who is familiar with Denver knows that Parker Road is a very busy street. This is where the story takes place.

My brother and I were on our way to a Nuggets game when we saw a guy going the wrong way in traffic. As soon as he realizes this, the car hits the median on its way over to the right lane. He hit the median at full speed.
To right the countless wrongs of our days... We shine this light of true redemption, that this place may become as paradise...Oh, what a wonderful world such would be...

I was on a pretty busy one-way road once, waiting at the light in the right lane. A car turned from the cross street and drove on past us in the left lane.

I didn't think about it at first, actually, until it suddenly clicked and I asked Hubby "Dude, did a car just turn past us and go the wrong way down the street?"

The honking behind me soon confirmed my suspicions.

I remember seeing a quote on my calender once that said
"Only a pessimist looks both ways before crossing a one way street"

I'd love to know who the author was so I could invite him to walk to the train station with me after work. You're pretty much guaranteed to see a car a month going the wrong way down one of the streets around our office.

As a senior citizen was driving down the freeway, his car phone rang. Answering, he heard his wife's voice urgently warning him, "Herman, I just heard on the news that there's a car going the wrong way on 280. Please be careful!"

"Hell," said Herman, "It's not just one car. It's hundreds of them!"
