  • You could've killed us!!! :rage:

I'm so glad I don't have a good reason to get a driver's license or else I'd have to deal with these kind of people a lot more.

    Almost shi*t my pants.

This happened a couple of weeks ago. My grandfather had just passed away so my dad, my sister, and I took my mom to the airport as she was going to visit my grandmother.

The way back home was dark, rainy, and cold so we were nervous. We had just gotten of the on-ramp and were on the rightmost lane. The lane was for merging so it was about to end, and of course we were going quite fast. As we accelerated to merge, a car came into our lane and slowed down considerably just ahead of us almost causing us so smah into them at 100km/h. Luckily we had just gotten new tires and breaks for the winter so we just barely made it.

Of course we were quite shaken up and amazed by the sheer stupidity of the other driver.

    Wait your turn b*tch!!

My mom and I were on a major road heading to the mall. As we approached an intersection where the light was green and we had full right of way, a "lady" at the intersection decided to turn right onto the road we were on even though there were a dozen or so cars before or right at the intersection who had the right of way.

Of course we're going at 80km/h so we slammed the breaks in an effort to not hit her. This caused a huge chain reaction of cars behind us and next to us breaking.

The "lady" drove off as if nothing happened while we sat there shaken at the fact that we could've been hit from both the front and the rear. If we hadn't breaked then we would've hit her. But we did break, so if the cars behind us didn't break we would've been hit from behind by multiple vehicles.

And since we were driving in a tiny Corolla and she was driving a big SUV, we would've been the ones who'd be injured.

    ARGHH!

I don't even know what to give as the title for this episode.

My mom and I were in the parking lot of a large plaza. As we were driving *very slowly* a kid on a bike comes out from between the parked cars and comes about 3 feet away from us. Luckily we had good brakes (we sure do like our brakes!!) so we screeched to a halt less than a foot from him.

And what was so important that he almsot got himself killed and my mom and I in shit? A bag of milk.. He was holding a bag of milk showing it to his friends at the other side of the lot while he only had one hand on the handle.

Sigh, why are people so stupid??

One of the Kwik-E-Mart chains around here sells milk in a bag.

You slit the bag a certain way and slip it into a specially-designed pitcher.

      I thought it was disgusting.

We used to get the creamery returns for our pigs. I much preferred the 5 gallon bags, because I could just *stab* *rip* and be done.

Sadly, Dad stopped raising pigs for a while, and now that he is again, someone else has gotten the milk returns.
Any day you're looking down at the dirt instead of up at the dirt is a good day.

And I thought the drivers in my state were idiots...especially when it rains. Then again, stupidity hath no bounds.

Milk comes in bags up here. I think it was invented to make shipping more efficient? Not sure. I don't know why anyone thinks it's gross, it's the same milk. We can get cardboard cartons of milk as well, in smaller sizes. 2L and under you can get a carton, and the bags give you 4L at a time divided into three.

I loved the UHT milk that we bought in Italy. UHT is ultra-high-temperature treatment, in which the milk is given a short blast of high heat to kill germs. Then it's put in tetra paks and doesn't even have to be refrigerated until after you open it.

(blas: mm, Silk. I tried the coffee cream version and it's good. I can tell that it's not dairy if I put it in tea, but in coffee it's pretty authentic.)

You can get that stuff here too (Canada, that is). Our office uses it for coffee.

Tollbaby: I'm in Toronto, and it's funny, I never see the UHT milk in anything other than the tiny mini peel-top creamers.

Our office gets the UHT stuff as well. The storeroom in the kitchen has bulk packs of the stuff, and we just move litre cartons into the fridge when needed. It's convenient, and for coffee at least, it makes no difference in taste.

I get the normal stuff at home. :-)

Oh, I love the taste of the UHT milk. When I was a kid I would sometimes visit a family friend on the way home from school, and if she'd just got in from milking the cows we'd have homemade doughnuts and fresh raw milk. The UHT milk tastes closer to that, in my opinion.
