Then again, this is the state where you have to maneuver around multiple construction zones to get anywhere.
    I thought that was Connecticut....

I was in a car with a coworker who was driving. He stopped at a green light, then a few minutes later he said, "Did I stop at a light that was green," I told him "yeah" so he said, "Why didn't you tell me I was doing that?" and I had no response. We just both sort of zoned out I guess.

Turning right to go left can be explained here: http://http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/...turn_crossover

          I miss those.
That doesn't seem all that confusing to me. Merging into traffic after completing the u-turn seems it could be tricky though.

I don't even want to contemplate the average Wisconsin driver trying to negotiate one of those.

I don't want to contemplate it either, Irv.

Hell, most of the people where I live can't even figure out a onesie roundabout (single lane roundabout).

Then they started putting in double lane roundabouts...

Depending on the volume of traffic on the road, there may be a light there which makes things alot easier.

I'm from Michigan too and I didn't know those were special to Michigan. Then again, this is the state where you have to maneuver around multiple construction zones to get anywhere.
There's actually a left turn idea that's worse than a jughandle?

                  How about the "Pittsburgh Left"???

I'm sure Protege could fill us in on that.....

One of the jokes around here (I live on the Ohio/Michigan Border) is

If you see a driver who's driving erratically, you automatically check for the Michigan license plate...

I HATE roundabouts with a passion. Don't know which are worse - the single lane ones (can't avoid curbing the trailer) or the double lane (can avoid it by using the whole thing, but people try passing on both sides, heedless that the space they're trying to use will go away sideways).

Some of the local roundabouts (once someone explained that it's considered a safety hazard to put a big hill in the centre of them) are built with the centre circle low enough that buses can drive over the centre circle somewhat if needed, presumably trucks can do the same.

I still don't know how to drive in one properly, despite the region sending out little brochures all the time. I'm not sure what I'll do when there's one in my route, either hop off and become a pedestrian, or just try to bull through and watch the other drivers for what to do.

So do I. There are lots of them in the Washington, DC, area. I am convinced they were designed with the horse and buggy in mind. They are a nigthmare for motorized vehicles.

They've started to add roundabouts here. I dunno, once I get used to them, they aren't bad.

People around here in west Michigan drive like assholes...half of the people don't use their turn signals...everybody tailgates regardless of how fast you go...drive around in the dark without their lights....etc.
