Ya know I don't think the truck is worth as much as it would take to fix it.

I don't get this fascination with mud running. I really don't. To me it's like spending days on end doing nothing but sniffing farts. It's a stupid, pointless thing to do.

But if you're going to do it, I don't think a slightly-jacked-up Jeep Cherokee is the idea vehicle for the task.

Likely out of pure boredom. Kinda like peeling out in a mall parking lot.

If you're going to do it, you should make sure someone's got a few necessities like, I don't know, spades? Or planks to put under the vehicle's tyres if it gets stuck? Or even, & I know this is pretty radical, a basic understanding of a truck's inability to go very nearly straight up when it has no front wheels. Idiots, the lot of them.

they are doing it wrong, they are pulling at an angle, the way to get it out of the mud is to pull it in line with the vehicle. They need to place planks, sheets of plywood, sheets of expanded metal grating or even chopped down underbrush in front of the wheels for stabilizing the mud. They also should have towed it out from straight behind the vehicle, pulling it *out* of the mud the way it went in is easier than muscling it up through the mud.

And I dont understand the 'sport' either. Waste of gas and time, IMHO. Same with off road biking/triking/whatevering. You want vroomy noise and speed, go to a race track, stop destroying the woods and bothering those of us who want to actually enjoy nature.

I love mudding, I love off roading.

But WTF? Did they even use the factory tow hooks? It looks more like they just wrapped a chain around the front axle. When you're stuck that bad, you don't back up and try to "snap" it out, ESPECIALLY at an angle. Not only did they completely fuck the front suspension of that Jeep, there's a damn good chance they did some damage to the Ford too. They're damn lucky that tow rope didn't snap and take someone's head off.

Cherokees are tough bastards, I don't know how the hell they just ripped the front axle off. If they'd been using the tow hooks properly, the worst that would have happened would be the tow hooks getting ripped off, or maybe the Jeep's frame getting slightly tweaked. Looks like they did no digging at all. I've been stuck really bad before, and broken a couple of tow rigs - you don't back up and gun it to "snap" it out when it's stuck that bad, you break shit and take people's heads off when the chain/rope snaps.

If you want some real carnage though, look at this. http://www.youtube.com/watch#!v=gqCy...eature=related There's a long version on there somewhere that shows the owner of the F-150 driving off pissed off, I'm surprised it even moved under its own power bent like that.

Not only did someone try to turn an F-150 (1/2 ton truck) into a 4x4 tow truck, then hook a 3/4 or 1 ton Chevy to the front to hold it... the F-150 bent like a damn pretzel. They didn't bother trying to dig the Rover out either. From what I understand, it took a "big" tow truck to drag it out (the kind they use for 18 wheelers).

It's easy. With enough force they did it.

It's appearantly not that hard to do if you got enough force. A couple years ago I saw a car slam right into the side of a pickup truck running a red light. Hit it so hard that it ripped the entire rear axle assembly right off the truck's chassis!

One of the back tires of the truck came to rest on the side of the road across the street from where the truck ended up.

Actually no. Just.........seriously disabled. The guy in the truck was all right because the brunt of the blow hit the bed of the truck and spun the truck around 180 degrees. But the woman who was driving the car was taken to the hospital for observation.
