  • Suicidal much?!

While driving to work the other day (2.5 miles each way), I went to take a left onto a smaller street, only to have some "gangsta" looking guy waddle in front of me when I was already up to speed. He didn't have the walk sign, as I had left turn. He also waited until I almost couldn't stop to enter the street. Of course, when I honked at him he flipped me off as if I was the one doing something stupid...because it's perfectly sane to run in front of 2500lbs of detroit plastic. :-/

Not even a mile further, I went to take a right turn, and the right turn lane here is doubly wide for some strange reason. Of course, some obliviot drives past the line of cars waiting for a right turn, then almost pulls into me when he makes his turn onto the one lane road. O_o He was completely oblivious to my existence, as when I honked at him, he looked around to figure out where it came from.

Not even 20 seconds later some teenage girl in a car way too big for her runs a stop sign while texting and almost T-Bones me.

I shouldn't have left Texas. Should have stayed there where the drivers were somewhat sane.

    Me: Gentoo.
Coworker: Ahh. A Masochist. I thought so.

Where the drivers are somewhat sane? But where will you find a gas station in the middle of the ocean?

Well, after that whole BP thing, finding gas in the middle of the ocean is less of an issue these days...

I'm sorry, I had to laugh at this. In Colorado, (usually) when you see a Texas plate, it's because they just almost killed you with their driving.
Pretend there's something here that sounds insightful, but is really just some pseudo-intellectual bull.

              Same here in Massachusetts.

Hmm I can't say the same. Some of the bigger cities, though more crowded, actually have saner (is that a word?) drivers then in the small town I live in. For a town that (supposedly) holds 12k people there is a high concentration of craziness. Things like stoplights, stop signs, speed limits, and such are for everybody BUT them.

We have a large curve that comes to a stop light. When you are coming from the side road to that light, you put your life in your hands if you try turning. Cause you have to pray that nobody is zooming around that curve, because they WILL NOT STOP. Despite there being a camera on that light. Our town has to make a small fortune off of that light.

Come to North Carolina. Seems as if half the drivers here don't know how to drive and the other half just plain don't give a damn.

And it's getting increasingly harder to distinguish between the two halves.
