  • And On He Peddled...

On the highway this morning (that leads to the freeway, but I was going to stop at Wal-Mart first).

In a multi left turn lane.

The lights go red for north and southbound. I'm behind a few cars, and waiting for my beloved green arrow to turn left.

While waiting, I noticed a bicyclist who didn't think the red light had anything to do with him. All vehicles stopped for it, but he peddled right on through, mind you, in the traffic lanes, acting as part of traffic.

If you insist on being treated like traffic, you obey the lights.

He should be glad no one going through when the light turned green hit him.

Don't you just hate that? Most people on a bike will follow the rules and not have a problem, but there are always the 'rules don't apply to me' people. Cause remember accidents only happen to OTHER people
Engaged to the amazing Marmalady. She is my Silver Dragon, shining as bright as the sun. I her Black Dragon (though good honestly), dark as night..fierce and strong.

I'm getting a bike soon and i'm terrified some asshole is going to hit me :x I'm just so freaked out. Naturally, car laws apply to bikes, but i've seen the drivers in my city, okay?

In some places bicycles aren't even allowed by law to be on the state highways (assuming this was that???).

Most states don't allow bikes on freeways, but they are allowed on highways.

Bottom line is, no matter what kind of vehicle you are operating, you are responsible for your own safety. Follow the rules of the road!

Meh, people have ran across intersections on that highway many times. I've come to expect the worst in just about everyone.

Phables: if you're going to ride your bike, follow the rules of the road, just the same as you would in your c- you know what, just follow them.
