Anakah - that is completely unacceptable service from your insurance company. I would definitely start shopping around as soon as this issue is finally resolved. And, sadly, while the larger companies may be a bit more - you may want to see if it is a doable option simply for the peace of mind of knowing that they will actually be there for you when you need them.

Hey, its been TWO months and my car is still smashed. I don't know what the hold up is! Get this, I emailed my claims lady from my insurance asking her what I can do to speed the process up. I was then told to contact the other guy's insurance if I wanted my truck to get fixed and get a rental car! What I want to know is, what in the hell has MY insurance been doing!? And why did they wait this long to tell me I am supposed to talk to them to get the ball rolling!?

Why do I have to contact the other insurance? Isn't that my insurance's job? I have esurance. So I called and left a message with the hit and run guys insurance and will be contacted this tuesday. Why is this taking so long!?

I'm wondering if after this mess is over if I should change my car insurance. Geico messed around with me like this when I had them several years ago. Maybe I should go with allstate. *sigh* This is getting annoying.
You should NOT have to be talking to the other insurance company directly . . . in fact, it is generally a bad idea to do so because they will twist your words to reduce their own liability and make you seem at fault, or try to trick you into settling for less than you deserve.

Call your insurance company back. Tell them you expect them to get on the ball with this. Do not take no for an answer. Go up the chain. Document, document, document.

Then call an attorney. These guys work on contingency . . . you should not have to pay up front.

I never had these kinds of problems from my insurance company. I went and got estimates, they paid, no fuss no muss. The way you are being treated is beyond ridiculous.
They say that God only gives us what we can handle. Apparently, God thinks I'm a bad ass.

I'm with everybody else; esurance is screwing you around and needs to be dumped the moment you're done with this. Totally unacceptable.

I had Titan when I was rear-ended, and they spoke to the people at All State (the other guy's insurance) and worked everything out for me without my having to do much of anything at all. Although I did end up talking to All State directly to get an extension on how long I could have the rental car after it was decided that my own vehicle would be totaled.

I wonder if the other guy in your case is trying to deny that it's his fault. I know that in the case where I was a witness, they sent me a letter over a month later to get me to write out what I saw for them. And then, a month after that, I got a call from the person I was witnessing for's insurance asking me to go over it all again because the woman that hit her was trying to make her pay for everything.

When the other person contests the events, it can make things really drag on a long time. And in some cases, it's not the other person, but the insurance company trying to contest everything in an attempt to not pay out. My bosses have State Farm, and they really tried to dick them over when some joyriding kids grabbed their Honda and made a mess of it before abandoning it.
