This had me shaking. Not as scared as the time a sleeping/drunk/dickhead semi driver nearly ran me off the road, but almost.
I got on the freeway to work last night. It was slow going because the two cars ahead of me felt no need to get up to speed, and of course there was another car in the right lane so merging would be a nightmare if the one car didn't move over.
Oh, whew, they did. Great. And stayed, since the two cars ahead of me were still going slow, and there was a semi and another larger truck going slow as well up ahead. I got in the left lane behind the one car so we could pass.
This person didn't want to go over 65. Which fine, is the speed limit, but normally in the left lane, that's not a very good idea. Someone could come tearing up our butts any moment.
So for nearly 5 miles, that car and I slowwwwwly proceeded to finally pass all the slower traffic that weren't even going over 55 mph.
So when we finally did pass, when that car went back into the right lane, I started to put on my cruise and put it up a couple of knotches, so I could pass this person and be on my merry way. Probably at about 68 or so.
Anyway, no sooner did I get a car/car and a half length gain, that car went BACK into the left lane behind me and got right on my bumper, hallogen headlights and all.
What the hell did I do? I didn't ram the gas or swerve or hint that I was upset with you, I just wanted to pass. Damn.
Anyway, I'm not about to play a game. So I just go back into the righthand lane a half mile or so after they got on me.
I figure this person is either going to fly past me or they are going to cut me off or they are going to pass me then go slower again.
Nope.
Not many moments after I went into the right lane, they dove right on over behind me again.
What the fuck?! Now I'm scared.
Fortunately, up ahead, is another bit of slower traffic. Oh thank heavens.
I get back into the left lane well before getting too close to the slower traffic, just to position myself, not even messing with my speed, still on cruise, and of course, that idiot is behind me again.
As soon as it's safe, I get back into the right lane. What next, I wonder.
Fortunately, the idiot decided to let it be, and got into the left lane and gained speed on me, and stayed in the left lane. Then it was my exit. Thank God.
