  • Driving to the store is hazardous

So many idiot drivers out there

    Almost got sideswiped

We were in the right lane. In the left lane there was a box truck. The left lane eventually ends and forces traffic onto the Interstate. Apparently, that's not where this truck wanted to go, and he began to drift into our lane. He came within inches of hitting us!

Hubby tried the horn, but it didn't work. He was pounding on the steering wheel trying to get the horn to work. He ended up bruising his hand.

    Running a red light

On my way to the supermarket, we were delayed by TWO RV's turning against the light. They were in the oncoming lane, turning left across traffic. At this intersection, traffic turning left there has an arrow. We had the green light, which means they had a red one.

It appeared the first RV had perhaps entered as the light turned yellow. When our light turned green, he was crawling through the intersection. Then, the RV behind him just followed him through the red light! There was much honking behind us...I presume they wanted us to forward the honking, but since Hubby's horn is busted...

They both pulled into the grocery store parking lot, and we noticed that they were together. I can understand if perhaps the RV that was following didn't want to lose the leader, except that the grocery store is right there at the corner of the intersection!

Better get that horn checked! Over here (NZ) I beleive it can fail a warrant of fitness if the Horn isn't working.

As for the drivers, Truck driver is oblivious fool. Two RV... Wait... RV?! As in motor home? Geez. THey are fools too.

I seem to be in a fool calling mood today XD

I've had people pull that Follow the Leader stunt around here. One is waiting to turn left at a busy intersection, and ends up having to go on the red because oncoming traffic runs the yellow. Fair enough. But then one or two behind him go too! That is not kosher at all.

It doesn't excuse it, but I'll bet the second RV driver couldn't see the light and just followed the first one figuring it was ok or the first one would have waited.

I lay the blame on the driver of the 1st one.

I'm really bad at following/leading in a convoy of cars, so my driving is always a bit over cautious in those situations and I always feel bad for stressing others out. I don't break the law though and know the other person will pull over and wait for me if I get stuck at a red light.

However, if you are going somewhere like a store, with a huge car park and signage, then there is no excuse for down right illegal and unsafe driving!

Sorry you were exposed to such sucky driving

I hate follow the leader, or "He went through so I will too!"

The only times I've been guilty of it, I've been behind someone who decided halfway through the yellow light to slam the brakes halfway or better into the intersection, then seconds later decides to gun it and I'm already too far in to stay stopped.

I'd still blame the driver of the second. When I'm behind a vehicle that's so large it blocks my view of the traffic light, and they go, I make sure to go just slow enough that I can see the traffic light before I commit to something that may be dangerous and wrong. After all, it's not the 18-wheeler's fault I can't see the traffic light through their trailer.

they're both to blame; one moving without right of way and the other for blindly following suit.

as for the truck...i've had that happen far too many times for my comfort, and whose fault is it? why, yours/mine, of course, for not letting him in.
