  • Turning halfway into somewhere and then stopping

People seem to do this quite a bit around here, especially the group of drivers that are like 120 years old. They'll slow down to turn into a store's or restaurant's parking lot and then they'll either slow to where they're barely moving or freakin' stop!

I've almost rear-ended a couple of people doing stupid shit like this. And if I wasn't paying attention I would have. Do people NOT think when they're driving????

I had to do that a couple of weeks ago, but it was because a guy was walking across the parking lot with his two small children. I was mostly off the street, but my back end was sticking out a bit, and of course the lady in the van behind me laid on her horn.

She parked beside me, and when I got out, I asked her if she had not seen the fellow crossing the parking lot? She said, "Yeah I did, but he was moving pretty slowly, so I honked!" Seriously?! The guy had a toddler by one hand and was pushing a stroller with the other, so I'm sure he was moving as quickly as he could. God forbid you have to wait two seconds before you can get to the store to buy your morning coffee and donut.

That's as bad as when people get halfway into the turn lane, then stop.

Saw a reverse of this. Guy was turning left, but traffic was backed up. He decided to just pull out and wait for the light. This, in turn, 'cause the lane he was blocking to back up. People were turning left from the cross street into that lane, and it got backed up into the intersection, so when the light switched, the people this douchebag was waiting for to move couldn't, since the intersection was blocked. After much honking and some creative maneuvering, things got sorted, but OMG what a mess this guy made!!!

          Try this one:

One lane in either direction, due to construction. Busy, morning rush hour traffic.

Guy stops, wanting to turn left, through the on-coming traffic. Guy in the opposite lane, past the the first guy, also stops and wants to turn left. Traffic in both lanes backs up because of the stopped left-turners..... thereby preventing both left-turners from being able to turn.

Took a whole lot of honking by a lot of people before one of them woke up to the problem and gave up on his left turn.....

Ugh. I hate when people do that...

In fact, I got stuck behind some idiot last night. This guy, for whatever reason, wanted to turn left. Imagine my surprise, when he stopped in the middle of the intersection, and put his turn signal on. Of course, he waited until the truck (which wanted to turn left the other way) and the car coming the other way stopped to do this. I'm sitting behind him, with another car behind *me*, and I can't go anywhere. Then the guy threw up his hands when people started honking. Well gee, *you* caused the problem, asshole. You deserve it.

I slow down sometimes pulling into certain parking lots because my car sits so low and i dont want to scrape, but as soon as my front bumper is in, i carry on as per normal, havent backed up traffic or been honked at yet lol.
