  • Good Thing My Brakes Work!

Wow. I have my "new" car for a week, and someone almost wrecks it. Amazing. I was driving back home from getting groceries the other day, heading east. A woman in a white car was sitting at a stop sign on my right, wanting to turn to her right (toward me). Did she wait for me to go? No. She pulled out in front of me. I came literally less than 2 feet from hitting her broadside on her driver's side door. I was so in shock that I didn't even think to knock! I just stared, slack-jawed, as she kept on going without even looking at me! It was then that I realized what had happened: She was on her cell phone, and hadn't even looked to see if anyone was coming before pulling out onto a BUSY HIGHWAY! And my family wonders why I don't trust ANYONE at stop signs on streets that cross the one I'm on!!

You are incredibly lucky .... soon I forsee that woman *won't* be lucky.
EVE Online: 99% of the time you sit around waiting for something to happen, but that 1% of action is what hooks people like crack, you don't get interviewed by the BBC for a WoW raid.

Anyone remember that Luther Vandross video "Give Me the Reason"????

      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MtUEno31PNA

The video in which the actions simply stops on cue and Luther casually walks in front of everything and not be affected at all??? I think some "drivers" must think that's real life, where the moving cars on the road will automatically slip into "pause mode" and stay perfectly still on cue when you pull out onto a road, then suddenly "resume play" like a videotape in a VCR when you're on the road and up to speed.

Sometimes I wonder, ditchdj! I should also mention that this was a 4-lane (undivided) state highway. She had to turn across not only the righthand lane, which I was in, but the one beside me, to make her turn heading west. Lucky her that no one was in the lane beside me!
