  • At least they didn't actually take the mirror...

So, my husband and I were out shopping tonight. I needed a couple things in Michaels (craft store), we were in there for 10 or maybe 15 minutes, tops. When we got back out to our car, we found that someone had knocked the mirror off of our driver's side door. And didn't even leave a note.

We already called our insurance company and they put a claim into the system and someone is going to call us back tomorrow. Hopefully they can take care of most of the expenses. What we're most worried about is that we're supposed to drive to Austin this weekend for a friend's Christmas party and we're not sure if we can get the mirror fixed by the time we have to leave on Saturday.

Replacing a mirror should be a simple fix unless the door itself was damaged.

Here's hoping everything turns out OK!
They say that God only gives us what we can handle. Apparently, God thinks I'm a bad ass.

Well, we have the mirror duct taped in place right now, so the trip to Austin went well. We have an appointment on Thursday to get it fixed; the guy from the insurance company who looked at it said that the door isn't damaged so we just need a new mirror and the piece that connects it to the door, which should run us around $200-$230. Not too bad, it could be a lot worse.

Check ebay for that; you might get a used one for less...
