  • To a driver tonight...

I realize that it doesn't rain often enough here in Phoenix, and maybe you're not used to driving in this sort of weather at night, but here's a tip - when water is running into the street, and you see a person walking along the sidewalk, it is NOT necessary to head towards the water, speed up, and drench that person.

(Yes, this did happen to me earlier tonight - fortunately I had an umbrella, otherwise I would've gotten soaked from the splash)

I've had that happen when I'm carrying mail. I'm always thinking WTF right after. Rain puddle is bad...slush with rocks and ice is worse.

Not necessary, but damn is it fun! At least it used to be back in the high school days when you had a car and the people that were dicks to you were still standing beside the road waiting for the bus....

I'm not completely sure about the laws, but I think doing that is illegal

I could see how it would be fun in that case, but for me.......I was highly annoyed because I've got a nasty lung infection, can't afford to get antibiotics or the chest x-ray which the doctor recommended, and some asshole driver purposely splashing me doesn't help.

Some people can be absolute bullies when behind the wheel of a car. I'm sorry that happened to you.
I don't have an attitude problem. You have a perception problem.

QFT I'm still in shock someone would do that.

Next time that happens (hopefully never) be sure to get the tags -- that is assault and battery -- assault in that they put you in a state of apprehension for your well-being, and battery that they actually did commit a physical attack on your person!
