I really want to get this off of my chest

So it snowed here where I live, like, two weeks ago. Before Christmas. Then it was cold. I still have packed snow and ice on my street. The city has yet to run a plow/salt truck down my road. This morning I was backing out of my driveway, and nearly ended up in the yard across the street. It was a total sheet of ice.

It was warm today, 40 degrees on my way home from work. I'm sure the street will be worse in the morning after it gets cold again tonight.

Why, why, why??? Why is my street the only one that requires a 4WD to navigate without sliding? I know they've run salt trucks down some of the other roads in my plat. I don't want to play slip-n-slide anymore.

Have you tried calling the city to put a plow/sand request in?

I know on my paper route, there is this one road that never gets any attention. It's not a major road, but it's not a tiny road either, and it connects a major road with a semi-major road. It's in a fairly lucrative neighborhood as well, so you would think someone on that road would have the right connections to get some service there! I live on a tiny dead-end road and even we usually get a sander through at least once per snow, but this road gets nothing.

Ugh. I don't use 75 between Needmore and 675 if I can help it. I couldn't tell you the last time I was on that stretch of 75.

Drove through though there last September for a conference in Cinci, and, as far as road destruction, that place was a mess......Typically for Ohio..:/

I'm down in Cinti and had to go up to Findlay 3x in the past 3 months and that construction was such a bitch. Once in the pouring rain. Thank goodness I don't have to do that too often.

Greetings from Wisconsin to you, and I hear your cries and feel the same way.

That big blizzard we had dumped 22 inches on us. I did my best to be patient and understand that it would take several days to clear out every road in the city, and maybe a few more to trim down the excess snow blocking sight at intersections and stop signs.

It was not until two weeks later, when we were supposed to get 7 inches of snow but ended up with about 3 and then freezing rain on top of it, did they actually go back out and put some real effort into cleaning up. I mean, before that last minute, there were main roads that still were missing half of a turn lane or an entire lane because they still hadn't plowed it or cleared it.

I just want to scream hello, this is Wisconsin, this is the midwest. We are damned used to a lot of snow, this is not exactly a situation where roads should be still hazardous two weeks later. We are equipped for nasty weather here. Sure, we've had budget cuts and bad decisions, but this is NOT Arizona or even out east. Why in the world some places around here can't remove snow to save their own lives, I don't even know.

Yeah how many years has I-75 from Dayton to Cincy been "under construction"??? Like five YEARS now!

I think Clinton was President when it was started.

Seriously................how long does it take to freakin' smooth out a road and pour concrete on it???? My brother-in-law had a new sidewalk made in his front yard and it only took five days to do the job.

BTW My hometown is up in Toledo. Note: I really like "Frequency 94.1" Cool station to help take the edge off of sitting in traffic there.
