I was behind a car today. It ran over a squirrel. That wasn't the sucky part, though. I mean, yeah it was sucky, but it was really the squirrel's own fault.
As I was quietly mourning the death of the squirrel, we approached a school that was getting out. It's a private school with no school buses, so the parents all have to come in to pick up their kids. Because the school has a rather small, U-shaped drive, the parents line up along the shoulder of the road as they wait their turn to make it into the driveway to snag their offspring. I've never had to wait in this line, but I've driven past it enough to tell that it seems to move along pretty quickly.
The line was about two-dozen deep, and as we approached, the car ahead of me slowed and signaled as if it were to get in line. Apparently, they decided they were too good to wait in line, though, because they cancelled their signal, sped back up to the head of the line, and then turned and squeezed into the driveway, cutting off the whole line of cars who'd been patiently waiting.
A squirrel-murderer and a line-cutter!
