  • Did you people forget how to handle a 4 way stop?!

So last night's drive home was fun. NOT. I swear people in the NW loss their dang minds when the weather gets bad

We had a little storm blow through. 40 to 50 mph winds, hail, thunder rain.

Driving home last night I go through one little town (more like bump on the freeway known for its strip club and bikini coffee places) suddenly everything goes dark. CRAP. Well here is hoping I get home before the power goes off.

Make to the downtown area of my town and suddenly everything goes dark. FUCK. Now this is really not good, because between me and home are 8 stop lights. And it is dark the entire way. And call home and we have no power.

And no one can seem to manage a 4 way stop around here. had at least 3 accidents almost happen because people can't remember when they should go. Almost got hit with a decent sized branch and a big arse truck because he couldn't freaking wait

Almost home and see that there are 3 big trees on the lines near our house

We got power back this morning at 4am. And we are suppose to get more of the same today.
Coffee should be strong, black and chewy! It should strip paint and frighten small children.

No one can handle 4 way stops here.

Last night on the way to work, my first 4 way stop.....a woman is already stopped. And waiting for me. And waiting.

Not wanting to risk what normally happens (I figure "F it, I'm going!" and as soon as I go, that person then all of a sudden realizes they want to go and near-accidents ensue), I sat and waited. She finally fucking went.

It's a 4 WAY STOP. It doesn't matter what I'm there. You were there first, already waiting before I got there. FUCKING GO.

I'm not sure who is worse, them or the people who attempt (or just do) slide right on through, rolling stop style, hoping no one notices they didn't want to stop.

Why I do think I believe I know just where that place is. The Suzuki dealer is closed on Sundays for Family Day ?

YAY for Cookies ! ! ! ! I have to go through there every Saturday. Hate that little bump in the road. Did you notice the new "Family Friendly" coffee place?

Are you ready for the snow this weekend? That always brings out the loonies.

When we had our major snow storm right after Christmas and the stop lights weren't working, I learned how people there react to it: instead of treating all sides like a stop sign, they just go through it without slowing down. Clearly that's a safe option.

Wow. I thought the actual four way stop by my work was bad. No one knows what right-of-way or taking turns means, I swear. I marvel at the very few number of accidents there actually are there. Really, it should be 1000xmore than it is!
