  • Had to back up a hill to exit the bank parking lot

I went to the drive-up ATM to make a deposit, since the bank's closed on Sundays. In order to get out, you have to drive left, down a hill, and left again at the bottom, going out behind the building. I get halfway down the hill and see that someone has parked there, blocking the turn in the road. I couldn't get through, so I had to back all the way up, turn around, and go backwards through the service lanes. Seriously, what is wrong with people?

When you learn let the rest of us know, because we've tried to figure out what is wrong with people and can only come up with part of the equation.

    SC+EW^2/IQ = ?

Figure the first person to find the answer to that equation will probably end up rich..or at least a lot less stressed after they cure the idiots.

I'm sorry to tell you that your equation is illegal, as no matter what you put into it the result will be "division by 0"....

Hmm maybe that is why nobody is able to solve it yet

I know how you feel, Food Lady. I have to pick up my daughter from school every afternoon, and her school is positively surrounded by one-way streets. The specific one we have to park on for pick-up has enough room for parallel parking on both sides and still enough room down the middle for two cars to just barely drive side-by-side, at the risk of taking off sideview mirrors.

So of course there are parents who, instead of parking halfway down the block and having to walk to the doors, decide they can just turn on their hazard flashers and park in the middle of the driving lane. Meaning when I try to leave after getting my daughter, I have the lovely choice of either waiting for Bozo McEntitled to pick up their kid (which can take upwards of half an hour, depending on what time it is, since preschool is picked up half an hour before the rest of the grades and my daughter is one of the preschoolers), or driving the wrong way down a one-way street in an attempt to get out sooner. And heaven help me if people end up waiting behind me, because then I'm stuck.

That sounds more like an abandoned vehicle. You should probably report it to the school and/or the police.

Except that the driver was still in the car (had two guilty parties today, one right in front of the other). Either it was one parent, waiting for release time for the older kids so that his/her child would come out to the car, or there were two parents and the one was waiting in the car while the other ran inside to collect the child. Luckily, both of today's culprits finally saw that they had a line 3+ deep behind them and thought, "Oh, maybe I should scoot over a bit and hope that the two minivans and the big jeep can squeeze past me without taking off my mirror." And yet, not 100 ft. back, there's a ton of empty parallel parking space just waiting to be parked in, but it's an extra 100 ft. from the door.

That's where you lean on the horn button. By accident, of course...
