  • Life is hard, but it's harder when you're dumb.

The story I posted yesterday about the brain dead suv driver yesterday made me think of this story. This one happens at least once a week, sometimes more often.

After you pick up your kid at my kid's school, there is a very wide road you take to get out. It's wide enough for two big cars...maybe three small ones...to fit side by side. You go about a hundred feet and it widens further, angling out out junction at a closed-off, gated intersection that is perfect for sliding into and buckling your kid in before you hit the real roads. (picture a human digestive tract...the road is the esophagus and the gated section is the stomach. If you picture a little car driving through in the opposite direction that food travels, it's exactly how the road is laid out) I park my car in the upper right quadrant of the stomach, right near where the esophagus joins) It's well out of the way of traffic.

I wish I had a dime for every time some lemming gets behind me and actually follows me on this very wide, multi lane road as I veer off to the right and stop next to the gate. They stop, and invariably have a confused look on their faces as they try to figure out why we're both stopped there.

I'm there to buckle in my kid (something very, very few people do I'm sorry to report). THEY'RE there because they are mindless sheeple who blindly follow whoever is in front of them regardless of what they're doing. They can and they should simply stay in the lane and proceed forward, as logic would dictate, but they're so tunnel visioned on the car in front of them they just follow along without thinking about what they're doing. So they actually veer off when I do.

It's not like I'm driving into a blind curve and they get mislead. They simply aren't paying attention.

They're damn lucky I'm not driving my van off a cliff or something or they'd be toast.

Know what Kink? I think you're on to something.

Maybe this is why I have such a problem with people on the freeway. Maybe they aren't purposely not allowing people to pass, perhaps they are just that stupid that they want to match everyone's speeds.
