  • If You Hit My Boyfriend You Will DIE!

    Soooo.

Remember my thread about my boyfriend getting hit by the drunk driver making an unsafe left turn in front of him while boyfriend was riding his bicycle, tearing his ACL and putting him out of work for over a month?

Well, he's been back at work since and recently finished building a new bicycle to ride. This bicycle has 2-lights in front, a headlight, lights on the wheels that flash, a flashing tail light, and boyfriend is now wearing a bright yellow reflective construction vest.

And yet, he STILL had 2-cars pull-out in front of him at 2-separate intersections mere blocks from each-other.

    I hate drivers here.

my boyfriend has some insane lights on his bike - he actually has lights on the spokes that make patterns when you pedal.

and he picked out some lights for me for the back of the bike (although i don't bike much)... they are VERY bright and "encourage" the cars to stay to the side of you vs directly behind. (legal - they had them at the bike store).

I have never felt such blood pumping, homicidal rage as I have when the husband's been threatened. Seriously.

      I turn into a territory-defending, rampaging 130 pound ape.

While it hasn't come up, I imagine the same would apply to my kid. But so far, yeah. Threaten my husband and risk rabid primate attack.

To be on the safe side, check the laws to be sure they are legal. Just because they sell them doesn't mean they are legal.

I don't know if the 'moving lights/colored lights' laws applies to bicycles, but I know it does to motorcycles and cars.
