  • That's not my car...

So this story comes from my mom who works as a school secretary.

She got a call one time from a parent about another parent who was parking in such a way that she was blocking other traffic from being able to get around the campus. They gave her the license plate number and she wrote it down and had a fair idea of who the car belonged to.

So a few days late said parent comes in to pick up their child and my mom asks: "Is your car a [make] [model] with the plate number XYZ?"

Parent: "Oh yes that's my car"
My Mom: "Well we've had a complaint about your car blocking traffic."
Parent: "Oh, that's not me I would never park that way."

Mom wasn't very detailed about the conversation but she got other gems like "Well everyone else does it." to "I'm only there for a few minutes."

I personally loved how it went from yeah that's my car to oh no that's not me.

Which says to me, she knows darn well it was her car. She's just trying to come up with excuses why it's OK.

And it reminds me of that rap song "It Wasn't Me". Cos I bet if you took a photo or video tape she's still claim it wasn't her car.

"Oh well, I guess you won't care if we tow it/plaster it with stickers/lock an incontinent skunk inside, then..."
