This happens always at this one intersection. There's a green light, and I want to turn left, but there's oncoming traffic. All 3 cars get through, but I see a guy on a bike who might cross my path. To be on the safe side, especially since I just got in a car accident this past weekend, I wait and the light goes red and Big Truck Guy behind me honks. Whatever. Well, we wait through the next cycle and there are even more oncoming cars this time, so he ramps up the honking. Seriously, does he really want me to drive into a line of cars?? I get edgy every time I sit at that intersection.

I refuse to mow down oncoming traffic 'cause you're impatient

i understand not wanting to hit bikers.
on my route to work there's an onramp i have to take where i have to slow down a LOT (seriously the main road is 55, this turn i think is rated at 35 tops, if even that).
i don't remember anyone behind me today but... i wouldn't have cared anyway. i slowed down to almost a stop cos... i saw an Amish man on a biking along the shoulder, going past the on-ramp (not on it, just past). No way in hell am i going to risk hitting someone on a bike (share the road!). so i slowed down to almost a stop until he was well clear before i turned onto the onramp

People try to bully me like that at unprotected left turns ALL the time. I get honked at or I see the person behind me keep wiggling their car forward behind me.
I will not go halfway into the intersection if it's not safe or won't be safe soon. I'm not getting stuck turning on a RED light because I knew I wouldn't make it anytime during the green or yellow. You really need to see a neurologist. - Wagegoth
