    Shooting pedestrians

    I was at a stop the other day. The car ahead of me had two guys. Suddenly out of nowhere, the passenger pulled out a handgun, reached out, and pointed it at some gal who was crossing the street...

    ...and pulled the trigger...

    ...and it made a little pop. Turns out it was just a BB gun, but at first glance you couldn't tell that. I almost had a heart attack for a second!

    The pedestrian was facing away, and I don't think it hit her because she didn't react at all. The car drove off, with the two guys laughing inside. 911 dispatch found it notably less hilarious, though, as I gave them the plate number and description of the vehicle and the two guys.
    Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad.

      Thank you for getting those assholes off the street and teaching them a lesson.

      Yes, I've noticed that. It's almost always teenaged boys, too. Makes you wonder.

        That kid's lucky he didn't do that to somebody who was carrying a real gun. Things might have ended much differently.

          AKA don't bring a knife to a gun fight. And you don't aim unless you're going to kill. (kill it, that, them, stuff...you gotta mean bizness)

            Plus, you could hurt someone with a BB gun. It's assault. I hope they get the piss scared out of them bu the cops.

              Reminds me of something they showed on those Amazing Videos shows (like Police Videos, but with a wider selection of sources and material).

              It was clips taken from a teenager's video camera, as they drove around doing these kinds of drive-by's on random pedestrians... with a paintball gun. They were laughing, especially as one of their victims collapsed in terror... and had a heart attack. (The narrator of the show specifically mentioned it.)

              IIRC, the teens were caught, and got the book thrown at them for their antics, helped in a large part by the fact that they were dumb enough to have videotaped it.

                I remember that! they were all in their mid to late teens, and as far as I remember all tried as adults and convicted of multiple assault charges

                  you did right in calling the cops.

                  even if it's a bb gun they can still blind someone, and they can do property damage.

                  Not to mention, BB guns are designed to look real. Hell the old ones like the one Dad gave me are even weighted the same. They might just try that someday only to have someone with a REAL gun draw down on them and fire. Bet they won't find it funny then will they?

                    That has happened over here too. And yes, Police threw the book at them.

                      I remember that as well. I was actually looking to see if I could see a vid camera in their car because I was thinking of that. I didn't see any evidence of a camera in this case, though.
