  • Have a nice day, lady ... somewhere else

Had an interesting "customer" the other day. She came in and asked for a "healing" product.

Me: "Um, what is the specific type of healing you're looking for ... something to help you sleep, or ..."

SC: *waves a hand in dismissal, makes catbutt face and turns away*

Me: (thinks) Oookaay then. Didn't say anything, just shrugged, looked at my coworkers, who looked equally bewildered, and let the SC walk away. She browsed up and down the shelves, and I did approach her one more time, only to get the Wave of Dismissal/Catbutt Face a second time. At that point I gave up. She could find what she wanted herself ... or not.

One of my coworkers went over and by dint of serious persistence actually succeeded in selling her something. SC was no less rude to her but CW was determined to kill her with kindness and get some of her money, LOL.

I have to admit these request for "healing" products leave me both irritated and worried. We are not a pharmacy, nor a holistic health store. I'm always tempted to say, "Have you tried consulting your doctor? Or a nutritionist? Or a holistic health specialist?" but I don't think management would appreciate that ...

These (waves hand) aren't the healing products she's looking for...

Hand them a gentle laxative. it 'heals' the issue of constipation if you are lucky.

Yeaaahhh, probably you don't sell products for intimate rashes and other "plumbing" issues, either...
