Pepperoni Woes

One local pizza place that just opened a second location near my home offers "Deep Dish-Style Crust" which seems to match your description and "Deep Dish/Upside Down" with all the cheese on the bottom.

Stuffed crust is like a hand-tossed pizza, but the outside of the crust has cheese injected into the center of it.

We used to have a Godfather's pizza here in Greensboro back in the 80's but it closed down a number of years back.

A lot of them closed awhile back. We had one in Middletown in the Eighties before the whole company overextended and almost went under. New upper management were brought in and got the company turned back around. Now they're expanding again as profits allow.

Keep your eyes open, Godfather's is expanding throughout the country slowly. We had two open sorta near me in the last couple of years.

We used to have a Godfather's pizza here in Greensboro back in the 80's but it closed down a number of years back.

It was a good place . . . my stepdad liked it b/c they would put jalopeno peppers and banana peppers on his pizza.

Just hope the reason they shut down didn't involve the fact that they were located across the street from a local funeral home . . .

Godfathers is doing the right thing and expanding slowly. I think they are nervous with growing too fast.

A good idea. 5 Guys did the same thing, and it's worked out pretty well for them.

In other words, looking forward to Godfathers and hoping they'll come to Northern Virginia.

Me too. And that's about the only thing "shaker" parm is good for: soaking up all that grease.

The main reason we did cheese on top was to keep stuff from burning. We also actively discouraged people from getting onions on top for the simple reason that they shrivel up and burn, and end up looking like hair ...

I worked at a couple Papa John's and they put the toppings under the cheese as well. That guy was a pure scammer.
Here's how that call should have gone down.
"One of my pizzas didn't have pepperoni on it."
