For me, it's not Christmas season until I hear the Peanuts gang shout, "Merry Christmas, Charlie Brown!"

And even then, only if it's DECEMBER.

Trust me, CB feels just as frustrated about Christmas Creep (and commercialism!) as the rest of you. And as you can see, it's most definitely nothing new.

And me and my wife have a very strict rule...Christmas tree/DVDs don't start until baseball playoffs begin and not a day earlier! (no joke, we started that tradition when we had our first Christmas eight years ago...occasionally though we wait until the World Series starts )

We're getting it too, Irv. I've had loads of people ask me if we have tissue paper for gift wrapping. :
Seriously? They can't just use the tissue paper that's available year round near the birthday gift supplies?

Seriously...white tissue paper is always available.

Why does anyone need wrapping paper already?! Though I have plenty leftover from a couple years ago. I pretty much only buy gifts for my family (3 people) and one friend so I don't go through it all that quickly. And I tend to go for generic-ish stuff...I bought a two roll pack at Bed Bath & Beyond which had blue and white snowflakes on one roll and stripes in the same colors on the other, so they're wintery but not specifically Christmas, so I can use them for other stuff.

I just like wrapping paper. The smell, the tape, the wrapping of things! My family joked a couple years ago that they were worried I'd wrap them!

I know what you mean, Tama. World Market always has gorgeous gift wrap. I try to buy it on clearance for the next year. There's something special about a filligree paper and floral sprays. Gold ribbon. Or velvet ribbon. Or the mesh ribbon with the wire that you can shape. And flocked boxes. Love those. Especially round ones.

This is why my Dad and I have tried to forbid Mom from shopping at the new Container Store that just opened near us. (This store is about 5-10 minutes away, as opposed to 20-30 minutes away in Tyson's Corner.) She buys roll after roll after roll of their wrapping paper, when we've already got a couple dozen rolls WE HAVEN'T EVEN USED.

I can handle Christmas creep OK. It's the Christmas creeps that are bothersome.

I prefer to wait until a month after the World Series ends to start considering Christmas.

Too funny! Especially Charlie Brown telling Lucy to go f*ck herself. Finally!!!

Peppermint Patty and Marcy, no surprise there....

A little creeped out at Schroeder, though...

No one's asked for wrap at my store that I know of. Most of them see the Christmas stuff and express disgust/distaste because, as we all said "It's only September!" Well, October now, but still, I'm ready to usher Christmas in on or after Thanksgiving, and not a day sooner!

That being said, we still have paper left over from last year and the year before. With one person moved out of the house and us all being adults, I doubt we'll use that much of it this year, either.
The greatest thing you'll ever learn is just to love and be loved in return.

Well..ya know, if you still like the older strips, they've been putting out compilations of ALL of the old strips -- from the beginning -- every six months for the better part of a decade now (roughly 2 years' worth of comics per book) ^_^ I need to catch up on mine, speaking of which...>_>

I love Christmas decorations and music. I listen to it all the time during the holidays and sometimes in the summer. :-)
