We get some rapper who thinks he's a lot bigger than he actually is and has quite the bad attitude (I forgot his name, he would be mad at that, he expects everyone to be in awe with him).

We also get Vanilla Ice (I forgot his real name), he's actually a pretty cool guy. Laid back and respectful.

Some players form the Dolphins and Marlins, too. Most of them are pretty laid back, too. They just hate it when people freak out when they come in.

When I worked in the deli counter in NH I used to wait on (the late) Bradley Delp (and I thought he was a vegetarian?? Just kidding, he ordered cheese, potato salad etc..) really cool guy, everyone knew him so we had no mass harassing him.

My sister in law delivered a pizza to Richie Sambora's house, Christi Brinkley (sp?) answered the door, she got a nice tip that night.

I'd occasionally see Stephen King in my college's library (why didn't he have his own??). Very quiet and avoiding, friends of mine who worked in the Bangor mall said he was like that at their coffee shop, too.

Not counting the celebs who came in for book signings (and Store1 gets some big ones - they just had Giada DeLaurentiis; they've had John Edward a few times, Sylvia Browne, Emeril Lagasse, Mario Batalli, Chris Bohjalian (sp?), the list goes on...) there are a few who go to Store2 sometimes. I've never seen them (or if I did I didn't recognize them) but Debbie Harry shops there, Jon Bon Jovi's mom (maybe Jon too but I'm not sure), a few others I can't think of...

The (former) governor of Maryland came into the pizza place a couple times with his wife and kids but I didn't get to wait on them. But it's a capital city so we'd get lots of politicians who wanted to experience some "local flavor" or whatever you want to call it.

Congressman McNultey (sp?) helped me shovel my car out of a snowbank this past winter.

Back when I was working service I got a few Broadway actors. Most of them were actually really nice. One guy (first name "D" --yes, he legally changed his first name to "D"... he played a character in Rent) was stubborn, and a little rude when I didn't believe his first name was only a letter long. (Who can blame me? )

The only celeb I can remember was back when I worked at the motel. It was Jim Keller (Formely of Tommy Tutone) AKA Jimmy James. He was actually with his girlfriend who was a stripper at the time doing a headlining tour of various "Mens Clubs". Actually a very nice guy.

He had called the front desk for more towels or pillows or something and the desk clerk was alone so I told him that I would run them up to his room on my way home that night. Got to the room and was offered a shot of tequila with him and his GF (Patron silver BTW) and BS'd for a few minutes. THey even invited me over to the strip club to see her perform the next night (had to decline, why I can't even remember now).

Other then that, a former friend had to house sit for a summer. The next door neighbor happened to be Jerry Dunphy http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jerry_Dunphy He was a news anchor in souther california for a long long time (Never met him but my friend did if that counts)

My celeb story is about Johnny Cash. I was a teenager back in the early 70's when he and his tour bus pulled into the truck stop I worked at. While the bus was being fueled and I was cleaning the windshield Mr. Cash stepped from the bus and was almost immediately surrounded by my fellow employees and other customers there. I did not know who he was at the time but knew of him, so I continued doing what I was supposed to. He signed a few autographs and chatted with the 20-odd people that hovered around him like vultures on a carcas. Anyway by the time I finished fueling the bus my co-worker told me who he was. Unfortunately it was too late for me to get an autograph. What I remember of it, he was very nice to everyone and didn't seem to mind signing autographs or talking to his fans.

My only other semi-celebrity sighting was a local news personality. She had called AAA for service as her battery died in her driveway. She refused my request for an autograph, but was nice about it.

Years ago, when I first started with (big chain), I worked in the front of the store, when Ted Kopel comes in and buys some nicotine gum. I simply said "Best decision of your life." He replies (in Ted Koppel voice): "They're not for me, they're for my wife." Nice guy that Ted Kopel.

So anyway, he comes in a few weeks (months?) later to buy more, so I ask "How's she doing with that?" He replies (in Ted Koppel voice) "I'm not sure. She's been on them for 7 years!" As a bonus, he was wearing biker chaps.

All jokes aside, Koppel's a cool guy.

I got a few.
One is um a umm.. entertiment worker for men... she comes in to buy smokes.
Don't know her name, but you can read a ad and order her.

The publishers of Mercery come in every now and then.

But now I come to Charles. Charles has a high profile case.

His grandpa was pretty big in the Manhattan Project.
