Background:
I've been working in my store (Home Depot sort of place) for around 3-4 years, and during that time, I managed to pick up the post of Kids Activities person, firstly because I'm actually a trained teachers aide, and secondly because I'm one of the few people in store that can handle whiny parents. Basically, once a week on weekends, I run two craft activities during my shift, one morning, one in the afternoon. In between those, I face paint. Just lately, it's been really dead in store on my day, so I'm pretty much twiddling my thumbs around the place a lot of the time.
So anyway...
Last week, I managed to get no kids. At all. They were in store, but the parental units just didn't want to spend half an hour hanging around so little Timmy could colour in a mask or something.
Because of this, and the upcoming stocktake in my store, I decided that, rather than facepaint, I'd clean out the workshop and make sure any stock we had was written off correctly or put back on shelves.
All was running fine until SHE came along.

Customers husband: SCH
Me: Me =P
SC: "Where's the face painting!? I was promised face painting! For my child! I've been waiting here for half an hour!"
(At this point I've been in the workshop for around 2 hours myself, and his lady was either invisible, or a freaking time traveler, because she certainly was NOT there half an hour ago).
Me: Well, that's weird, I'm sorry, I mustn't have seen you there somehow. We're not running the face paint today as it's so quiet, and stocktake's so close."
SCH "Ergh, what is it with you people. She already told you we've been waiting!"
Me "...I understand that, but I'm..."
SC "MY CHILD NEEDS FACE PAINTING ARGABLARGHAWARBLE"
Me "Ma'am, if you'll stop yelling at me and give me two minutes, and I can set up my kit, and your child can have a special face paint all to himself, just for the inconvenience."
SCH: "No! This is unacceptable! We will be calling to complain! YOU WILL BE FIRED! FIIIIREEEEEEEED!"
SC: "You have RUINED MY CHILD'S LIFE!"
Cue much storming out with flipping of hair and dirty looks. The hell even happened there? I'm used to getting drama from parents because their special little angel isn't getting what they want right now, but this was ridiculous!
I also understand that it's frustrating not to get something you've been expecting, especially when there's kids involved, hell, I used to deal with kids with Down Syndrome, Aspergers, ect in a school environment, but jesus burger flipping christ lady, shit happens, that's why boots were invented!
As an aside note, apparently she did call in about me, and one of the managers who has taken a serious dislike to me fielded the call. I have a feeling this is going to end very, very badly.
Someone pray to the retail gods for me. Save what's left of my cynical little soul...
