I've noticed folk visiting New York sometimes pull crap like this too, specially if they're not used to walking everywhere. It's fun watching them complain about how many miles they've walked to get somewhere, only to reveal they've gone maybe a few blocks at the most.

Background: New business owners so I guess customers like to "get smart" or try things with us.

A regular beer customer comes in. He goes and grabs his usual 40 and does a dramatic reveal "Oh man I FORGOT my wallet!"

The previous guys I guess used to give loans or accept IOUs. But we just said Eff it we need money. We cant pay our rent or deliveries with IOUs.

Me: No worries man you come here all the time. Just get it and the beer will be here!

SC: Ah man but can't ya let me get it. I'll get ya back tomm morning! I come here all the time (This part is actually true so I respect that).

Me: Yeah I know man. Hey let me do this I'll save this beer for ya. You live close by right? Just grab the wallet, I'll have the beer for ya!

SC: No not that close (After he said he lived closeby in earlier chats).

Me: Ah you walk right? We can wait. The beer will be here COLD too! How far could it be?

SC: Uhh 3 MILES!

Me: (actually shocked) You walk 3 MILES everyday?

SC: (Completely falls apart with his rationale). Uhh. (Just leaves).

He comes back 5 minutes later with wallet. The guy can run! Call the Olympics!
