Actually there are thousands of Ambulance Chasing class of lawyers who advertise "If you don't win, you don't pay". Even if he doesn't have to pay lawyer fees, there's the matter of the court fee. Just to file for a lawsuit is $30 in the states I've lived in.

With the price of gas, they don't chase the ambulances anymore, they just sit and wait in the ER.

And yes, I've seen them *and* been approached by them. (spelling mistake deliberate). After the first time I say no, if you continue, that's called harassment.

I have a nice Chicago (the 70's, 80's, 90's, 00's band) keyring made with a casino chip. The customer could make souvenieres (sp?) with it.

I heard that the Stardust is coming down. I'd LOVE to get my hands on some of their old chips before they're destroyed, since I make jewelry and do other kinds of metal work. If anyone could get me some, I'd pay a fair price for your trouble and expense, and maybe throw in some cookies if you want em. LOL

I have some chips somewhere from when my parent's honeymooned in Vegas and went to Circus Circus.

Getting back on topic, when my father still had his advertising agency, he sometimes got clients that refused to pay him for his work. What did he do? Simple--he took the bastards to court. Not only did he get whatever he was owed, but had his court costs paid as well. Plus, the cheap bastard usually ended up with a somewhat-angry judge. Not a good idea, since many will remember who angered them--if you have to deal with them again, you're screwed.

Your best bet would be to find out which company supplied the chips to the Stardust. They would likely have tons of the old chips slated for eventual destruction.

Yet Another one

Well, I don't know what it is with people but WHY in the hell would you take home chips instead of cashing them out!? Especially if you are from another state!?

Okay, this elderly couple got into my CW'ers window and presented two twenty-five dollar chips and asked if they could get their money. Of course NOT because once again they were the outdated, completely priceless due to them being the non-existance company's chips!

Good god the company has been gone for over a year now. New name, new everything! Drives me insane.

Well, of course when the CW said no, they immediately asked for a supervisor.

The supervisor told them something they didn't expect to hear: NO.

Well, the CW asked them to move over so that she could continue helping other customers. Well, a woman in her window butted into the converstation and went something like this:

CrazyLady:CL

CL: Oh, don't worry about it. Just go to blankidy blank casino and the owner will buy them from you.

Which was a total lie! In fact, my supervisor called the other casino and they even said no.

CL: Just go to the main cage at Blankidy blank, ask for a manager and then they will get the owner and he'll pay you for them. He collects them.

OH dear god. This woman was just spouting complete lies! I would have LOVED to have been there when Blankidy blank told them that the woman was full of crap!

Now, CL was just getting the other two completely irate at us. Finally they stepped back from our cage but they were still discussing a course of action as to get their fifty bucks.

There are so many things wrong with this that I don't know where to start but it all just made me mad and was quite annoying.
