It's been a while since I've had a story to tell, but in the couple of days before Irma struck, when all of South Florida was battening down the hatches, we had a call come in from a VERY irate customer who was pissed that their appliance had not arrived on that date as promised. The poor sod answering the phone tried to explain very politely that it was likely due to the impending storm since our appliance distribution warehouse was in Miami. A chance to speak to a manager about it was offered, but they decided very rudely they were going to call corporate and complain, as if that would magically fix anything.
As it so happened, Miami was spared the direct hit (the glancing blow they got was still pretty damned rough) by the eye on account of OUR city being in the crosshairs, so there's a good chance their appliance would have been ruined had it actually been delivered.
