As a victim of child abuse myself (don't worry, I never stolen or anything like that), I do NOT find that funny in the least. Punishing her for stealing money (like making her do extra chores to work it off or whatnot) is one thing, but there is NO EXCUSE for beating a child. Ever. Period.
