Quoth Misanthropical View PostI don't shop for candles, but I have noticed that I will pass a product up and pick up a different identical box, because of the feelings on the first box. I don't know if it's from other shoppers or a person who helped produce the product.
I get vibes off of people too, if they have a bad vibe I won't go near them and I won't let my children around other children with a bad vibe. Yes, it's hard to explain to my children why they aren't allowed to play with certain children without sounding like a total loon, but my husband backs me up on this, since he has found that I'm right about things like that.
I don't see auras, I just get a feeling about people. The thing that creeps me out the most and sets me the most on edge are the people with the dead eyes. You can see their soul has already died by looking in their eyes.
I do seem to have a calming effect on people who are mentally disturbed or otherwise out of it. I have no idea how I do this or why my presence has that effect on them.
I don't know how I would react to the woman in the OP, since I have never encountered anyone like that and I hope I never do.
I used candles as a refrence because they hold bad feel energy longer. Trust me i had some one give one as a white elephant gift, found it years later unmelted (one of the few that got stored and didnt melt) and it still felt evil.

I was in Goju-Ryu (Hard-soft style) for 5 years and I'm still aware of my surroundings. I have had moments where I heard my dog rolling around in the other room while I had headphones on. We also practiced meditation a lot and one of the things I learned from my books is that it is possible (Through many years of practice) to solve things in your dreams. I do believe in hidden powers within the body and I was taught by my instructor some very disturbing things. One day he got us to stand in a line, told us to meditate and put our hands together but to not let them touch. He tells us to pull our hands apart slowly. What I felt is very strange to describe, it's as if two magnets are pulling your hands together. It was quite possibly the coolest and strangest thing I've ever discovered at the same time. This also reminds me, I need to get back into martial arts, shame my instructor disappeared on us like that. Great man.Quoth wagegoth View PostStudying martial arts does make you more aware of your surroundings, including vibration and sound, and a built-in sensitivity would help. That was one of the things we would practice when I studied Aikido many, many moons ago. The Buffy the Vampire Slayer episode, "Out of Mind, Out of Sight," has a moment like that that made me flash back to the dojo.
As for the OP; that woman scares me and I've seen some very creepy stuff. Matter of fact I kept hearing this song http://youtube.com/watch?v=OJleIPMTroo as I read the OP. She scares me.The Grand Galactic Inquisitor hears all and sees all.

I don't know where I stand with psychic powers. Hucksters on TV like John Edward or Sylvia Browne annoy me since they obviously use techniques like cold-reading to scam people, but I have to admit both I and my mom have an uncanny ability to read people like books. I can freak my wife out by knowing what she's about to say before she says it. It annoys my bosses sometimes because they'll hear me on a call and ask why I didn't try to sell something, and I can't explain to them that I can just tell they aren't going to buy anything. When I get the vibe, I go for it and usually get a sale. Other times I get a strong vibe not to, and not just from the obviously pissed off people either. It's hard and a little weird to explain, I can just feel it.
I've had people who called me just blurt out how they can tell I'm a very calming force. I joke at work on how I'm like the bomb squad of the call center since I can diffuse almost any situation I put my mind to. Pretty much the only calls I end up having to escalate are ones where they didn't even let me try.
Also, beside the stuff about being able to sense if a TV is turned on, I also have a weird effect on electronics. My mom has an old portable TV in the kitchen that gets the clearest picture possible if I'm sitting near the antenna. You can tell if I lean to grab something from the fridge since the TV will fuzz out."You know, there are times when it's a source of personal pride not to be human." - Hobbes

*shudder* Definitely bad mojo at work there, Blueberry.Quoth Blueberry View PostWe think she knows we want to get rid of her, but that we're all terrified of her, and anyone who has resolved to tell her she is banned is oddly never around when she shows up now.
Find, or preferably make, a talisman or pendant to ward against negative influence (harm, dark magic, etc all work in this case), and keep it on you while talking with her and see if that doesn't help. Nothing from any book that has the word 'Neo' in the title, though, and no 'luck charms' from a new-age shop either. The more old-school the better. If nothing else, you can make a protective sachet that'll make you smell nice AND protect you:
Fill a white pouch, preferably of natural fiber, with a mixture of whatever combination of the following herbs smells best to you: Burdock, Cinnamon (broken sticks, not powdered), Dandelion Leaf, Feverfew, and Yarrow Flower. Next, stitch it closed so that nothing will come out. Done. Those herbs are all traditionally carried in sachets for protection or warding off negative energy, so they'll work a treat.
You can also mix cumin and sea-salt and sprinkle some around the sidewalk outside the main entrance, preferably right across the threshold. Doesn't have to be huge, just a few pinches cast about. I'll bet money that even if she does come back, you'll be able to kick her out without freaking out....WHY DO YOU TEMPT WHAT LITTLE FAITH IN HUMANITY I HAVE!?! -- Kalga

Failing that, and something you can do without spooking customers/co-workers, brew up a cup of tea, in some tolerable, clean smell (I like to use lemon or lavendar, but even plain old Lipton's works). Drink it and hold the last mouthful in your mouth, then walk around and blow out so the smell and the steam comes out. I've also used onion potato chips, corn chips/cornbread and even a lit cigarette (though the last might bother asthmatic customers).Quoth Seshat View PostFind an incense that most of the people in your shop consider pleasant, and burn it in the shop. If most of you will tolerate sage, use that - it's considered a cleanser in many cultures.
If you don't feel too silly doing it, walk around the shop carrying the incense and sort of 'waft' the smoke everywhere. (Make sure any employee who has hayfever isn't on that day, or at least has checked that that particular incense smoke is fine with them.)
Also, lemon cleaning spray or pine air freshener can do wonders if the intent is there.
I had to do discreet stuff like that at my old house and workplace, so I wouldn't spook my really nice but very traditional bosses.

Everything is made of energy; everything is made of constantly moving particles. Some people are more aware of that than others.Quoth Sliceanddice View PostMy thing isnt an energy thing but i can tell when i meet people weither they are happy or what have you, i mean not by talking or even looking at them, just by feeling if they are happy. Also when im weak (sleepy, sick, what have you) i feel pain around me, not mine, but like from my neighbors. When i candle shop i will by the candle that doesnt feel tainted (doesnt have a bad feelins in it when i touch it) and the same with a few other things.Labor boards have info on local laws for free

I'm pagan, for those who don't know. I don't have a traditional belief in gods and goddesses, although I do pray to two goddesses. What I do believe is that the gods are constructs that people have made exist in a fashion by worshipping them, telling stories about them, thereby turning their energy to them. While the god as traditionally believed does not exist, the belief and the energy supporting it do, and that grants power to this god.
When I pray, I'm giving and asking for energy that has been turned toward this goddess. I make offerings of food and drink, burn incense and candles, talk to small statues and the moon, and I do this because it helps me focus my energy, and, I hope, receive energy back.
Andara said in another thread that belief alters perception, perception alters reality, and I agree with that.
The one thing that scares me a bit is that if I foresee something happening, have I contributed to the likelihood of it happening? Horrible paradox!Labor boards have info on local laws for free

Whoa. Major heeby-jeeby factor from the story....
Now, I'm not sure how sensitive I am, but the last place I lived, my current roommates and I could sense that there was something up. Almost like a haunting. I heard a series of thuds, my roommate heard a scream, both from the same stairs, and we both got a major case of chills up the spine.
Other times at work, but only before open/after close, or when the arcade was otherwise completely empty, I'd occassionally see a figure out of my peripheral vision, and only as a reflection in some glass (which there is a lot of in an arcade, though not as much as there is plexi).
So while I'm pretty sure all this exists, I never really get to see much of it. I've never seen auras, though, per se.Those who are loudest about their qualifications, tend to have the least merit to their claims.

I know this is a serious thread, and this woman sounds like someone who needs to be banned from the shop...Quoth Blueberry View PostOh, and I was thinking of stocking a small supply of bibles, Dalai Lama books, some Hindu books, various how to have happy energy books and some Oprah at the cash desk to ward her off.
... but at the same time, it cracked me up that Oprah has been elevated to be on par with religious paragons and holy texts.

Dunno about the massage part (I don' get much practise, what with my lousy social skills when it comes to women and all).Quoth JustADude View PostPsychic healing (or spirit healing, as I call it) is more a state of being than any sort of active works, and I'm betting people warm up to you easily, you're a great person to be around, and you can defuse bad situations by going on instinct... or, if not, it's because you're lacking the self-confidence to really be yourself around people. As far as 'laying of hands' type psi-healing, you'd probably notice an untrained talent in that area manifesting itself as a talent for massage.
Please, do tell me how close I am since I'm trying to figure out exactly how accurate my intuition is on this kind of stuff.
I do my best to defuse bad situations... occasionally I even succeed, but I really can't say for the rest of it, you'd have to talk to someone who knows me, and I don't think there's anyone on the boards who knows me OUTSIDE of the boards.
So... I can neither confirm nor deny the allegations against this administra... oh, whoops, wrong speech!
Seriously, I dunno either way :PCheck out my webcomic!

What I suggest you do when you find an evil person such as this, is to get a sociopath to deal with them.
Since they can't feel emotion, no matter how much evil 'aura' is projected at them, they can tolerate any kind of treatment for as long as they want. If anything, once the evil one realized they couldn't get their 'psychic hooks' into the person, they'll become so incensed that their power isn't working, they'll leave in a huff.
I've come across a few sociopaths in my life who if they wanted to could take on abuse for hours without losing their cool because no matter what happened, feelings of anger, embarrassment, guilt or shame were foreign things to them.Broadcasting to you live from the nerve center of my brain..... szzzt *we are currently experiencing technical difficulties, please stand by*

I'll say you're right, even though I haven't given it much thought.Quoth JustADude View PostSounds like you've got the same sort of Guardian/Healer vibe going on with you I've noticed in certain people (and have been occasionally told I, myself, have), which I'm betting has gotten stronger, along with your ability to spot Wrongness, since you've had to look out for your children's well-being.
Like I mentioned to Polenicus, do tell me if I'm right or not, please.Do not annoy the woman with the flamethrower!
