Do not diss the Devil Z!!
Aye, you're right, because apparently its some sort of serial killing devil car that only kills people with the same name. Its also shot entirely in what appears to be an old PS2 beta build of Need for Speed.

Yeah, it's silly that people "stereotype" gamers into being all teenage males. My Mom is 52 years old and she used to play Everquest and she now plays World of Warcraft. I've also been an avid gamer and MMORPG player for years.. started out on Ultima Online, then Everquest, WoW and now back to Ultima Online again.

One time, I went into an EBGames store to pick up an Everquest expansion for my Mom. One of the guys that worked there was like... OMG *YOU* play EQ?!?! He didn't say it in a rude way, just with astonishment. He got excited when I told him I did play MMORPG's. I think it turned him on or something. Like he couldn't believe that a young, attractive female would play an MMORPG. There's more out there than you think, guys!

I've found a LOT of mmo players are female actually since these games tend to stress social, planning, management and strategy skills over "twitch" reflex games which the male teenage crowd prefers. In all the mmo's I've played my guildmates have usually been at least half female if not the majority. Except in WoW. WoW is full of IDIOTS. Not that there aren't smart people that play it, its just Blizzard so successfully catered the early game to morons while aiming for casual gamers that you end up surrounded by them. Success in WoW is measured almost exclusively by time invested, so natural selection doesn't pick off a lot of them like it does in other mmos.

The only reflex games I like are rhythm games usually. There are very very few FPS I play and the only ones I do play stress teamwork over OMIGAWDZ KILL TEH ALL. Since I prefer to be in a support role of some sort rather then the big, angry sweaty man up front with his volkswagon sized Shimmering Phallus Blade or largely impractical Airburst Penis Launcher.

I use to find it funny in City of Heroes / Villains as a lot of people there ( and in WoW ) play Mangina's. But I just followed one golden rule that always let me guess a real female from a guy playing one: If the toon had pants on. Seriously. 9 times out of 10 in CoH I was right just using that simple rule. If she has pants on, its probably a real female. If its in a thong with knee high boots, thats a guy. =p

Hmm, the shock is a reaction that you would never get out of me. If a 70 year old grandma buying a FPS doesn't make me flinch, nothing will.

At a local EB, the girl they hired there knew more about games than anyone else! I talked to her for a few minutes about the DMC series.

I would generally agree with this statement, but there are times when such characters come in handy. You can turn most of the other players into drooling idiots, lure them over, then put a bullet (or laser beam, or rocket, or light saber) right between their eyes. This is great for ridding a game of underage AOLers.

Another fun tactic is firing up any given RTS (I used to do this with Age of Empires) and playing the part of the sweet, innocent thing who stumbled upon her brother's online gaming account while looking for something with magic ponies. Then you ally yourself with one of the big strong men to "protect" you so you can watch the sheep frolic in the field. Then wait for him to wage war with the other players, and after he comes back to base with his remaining forces, he finds an army of Legions and Chariots waiting to welcome him home.

"What are THESE guys for? Oops, I think I accidentally turned off our alliance."
              *kill kill kill*
              "Tee-hee!"

Yes, that actually works. Quite well.

You should see the surprised looks on the faces of young, male game store employees everywhere when my Mother (in her 50's) marches up to the counter and starts discussing Zelda- ANY Zelda game. She's a fanatic. For Christmas I bought her Twilight Princess and the collector's edition, leather bound game guide.

Old computer tech trick for trying to revive "dead" drives, place drive in a ziploc bag, then put it in the freezer for a few hours. Then temporarily install it in a system and try to recover your data as fast as you can.
Filed for something to try when I'm not busy playing CoH/V.... (I just bought the GvsE setup last night, and it finished the update overnight)

Hmm.... would that work with me... *thinking out loud*

Andara... short skirt. Xialis... skintight leather. Baka Neko... fur, no clothes (she's a catgirl & I have 3 other catgirls). Celeste.... straps2 for pants, and tribal "paint" for a top - she looks quite trampy. Lilliula... metal and one of the freaky biological patterns for an outfit that looks like it's made of viny plants (she's fae). Skard... one of the chitin patterns, no clothes (lab accident, great backstory for her). Celestial Idol... she's a robot, all metal tones, no "clothes." I've got a host of other characters, but these are my mains and a couple of my more interestingly "attired" (should I say designed?) alts.

My favorite character to play is Celeste, 'cause she's a super-tramp, so I have a lot of fun with conversations. I bet half the people I run into think I'm some teen guy otaku with a catgirl fetish.

                    ^-.-^

A cat girl fetish? In CoH? Never! Surely you jest? Its not like HALF THE POPULATION OF THE ENTIRE GAME doesn't have at least one cat girl character. >.>

That use to be a running joke with my guild. How many cat girls could you spot in any given zone when you arrived.

I just got a job at a SF/fantasy/gaming store I frequent; I'm a tad wary about working a closing shift by myself, but the crowd that frequents the store is pretty close-knit and generally goodpeople (although every once in awhile I've seen the odd stereotypical gamer geek with the personality of a cheese grater/social skills of a wet rag).

                          I'm a girl gamer too.

Final Fantasy just rocks and I play just about any decent RPG going though I do love Sims 2 as a time waster.

I miss the old days of playing my Amstrad 128k - I so spent hours playing Sid Meier's Pirates

My best friend (male) proposed to me when he found out I play WoW. I love it, though it gets frustrating sometimes. It's tough when most of the players are bored teenage boys who enjoy picking on people. Maybe that only happens on Horde PvP servers, but I've found that it's best to never ask a question there unless you want to be jumped on and insulted. Is this a normal thing or did I just happen to join a bad realm? I haven't run into it as an Alliance PvE, but my character on the PvP realm has been insulted and belittled so many times that I'm contemplating deleting her.

                              Ha ha! Another Vancouverite~

No, thats honestly pretty much par for the course and Alliance side is even worse to be frank. One of the reasons I stopped playing entirely. The other reasons were the end game is worthless and the pvp sucks. -.-

I've never played an mmo with so many idiots, jackasses and griefers then WoW.

That is one reason I was bored with WoW from the first day I played it. I play Eve Online and it is much much better than WoW in terms of pvp and things to do. Hell you do not have to grind to get anywhere unlike other MMOs and hell your skills train while your sleeping. ^_^
