Not my first post, but my first topic, so I'd like to say hello
Sorry if my English isn't too good, I'm a native Polish speaker.
Yesterday I started working at a local McD's that's in a small shopping gallery opposite a hypermarket. Not a very crowded place, but we get our dose of the evening rush.
This week my shift starts at 1pm and ends at 8pm. I came to work at 12:30 only to learn that there's an inspection.
Apparently some jackasses (in the words of my coworkers) from the main office come in every now and then, eat loads of stuff for free, get angry and throw things around in the kitchen. Everyone was nervous because of them.
So, I started my shift, and it was crowded from the beginning. Now bear in mind that I started working there only yesterday, and even tho I'm a fast learner, I'd still get nervous. Thankfully most of the time I have backup (I do the registers).
About an hour into my shift comes this Large Impatient Lady(tm). With three bottles of vodka that she had apparently just bought at the mart. Not that I'm judging her
Orders a crapfull of food. Really. All takeout.
We're nervous and she's impatient AND rude. Means lots of trouble.
After completing her order I accidentally gave her too much change (and that was a FIRST), but I've noticed that right away. Asked her to return the change, so I could give her the proper sum.
"I don't have time for this". Yes, she left. Just like that.
Leaving me, a frightened cashier in training, with a deficit.
Thankfully my backup worked out the next orders so that we'd get the missing amount back. Really, what would I do without her
The managment never learned of this, but they're cool anyway, so I wouldn't get in trouble. I'd just have to refund the deficit.
Wasn't really a big deal, about 5pln, a BigMac costs more than that.
Still, some people just make me feel like I should deal with them. Definetely.
