Backstory: At the hobbyshop, prices change all the time. We have so much stuff and so limited employees that we don't get around to all the price changes, we just watch the computer screen for any variance in price and then just change it if it's higher in the system than on the tag. If it's lower in the system, but higher on the tag I'll tell people that they have "saved" money on their purchase.
3 weeks ago, we had a real asshat come through. I don't even remember what he was doing(didn't have time to post it before I forgot), but he was giving us all grief. Not even the owner could stand this guy.
When he came to my counter to make the purchase, I noticed he picked out mostly variances(all the stuff was from a company that had recently lowered their prices). And they were ALL lower in the system and higher on the tag.
So, I go into the system and raise the prices on everything to the price on the tag. His total savings IF he had been a nice person? About $40.
Edit: I just told the owner about my "evil moment". His response? "As well you should. That'll teach 'em. Honestly, I do it too."
I don't want to quit working here. I really don't think I could handle it anywhere else.
