We don't really have that problem at our restrooms at the business, but at school, it's a different story. Someone had such heartfelt messages that they must display on the bathroom walls. Seriously. On every stall, there's something along the lines of "Live your life" "Dream big" and "You can do anything." It's pretty funny that they take to writing those things on the walls.

Until the vandals got a hold of a Write-Out pen...
Yeah, but those are much easier to clean than permanent markers.

The problem is there are still people that carve into the walls, or scrape the paint off. We even had people writing on the mirrors
I was thinking more along the lines of the stalls being made out of a material that was black to begin with, not painted. Would make carving mostly pointless. And a good glass cleaner should get the writing off the mirrors comparatively easily.

    Heh,

The absolute best toilet graffiti I've ever personally encountered was written on the employee toilet of a bar in the middle of nowhere. It said (translation done by me, on the fly: your mileage may vary...)

Anyone can pee on the floor.
Lest Thou be the King and have a shit on the (under-surface of the) ceiling.

Which is better than fecal art.

In one of the stalls in the men's room at work, users get treated to this:

Some come here to sit and think
Some come here to shit and stink
Me, I come to scratch my balls
And read the words upon these walls

Venues should just start putting in black stalls.

That would put a crimp in all those bathroom vandals right there.

Proof yet again that there's a Family Guy quote for every situation.

At the concert venue I work at the graffiti on the walls in the bathrooms got so bad that we no longer allow people to bring in pens or marks. You know it's bad when it gets to that point.
So many people get mad at us for this and I have to explain that a few people ruined it for everyone else by defacing property with there pens and markers.

It is amazing what some folks will do behind closed doors. Look at the internet. You have thousands of stalkers coming out because they think no one can see them at home on their computer...

You see the dark side of human nature when folks don't think they are being watched...

    So true. It IS amazing.

The best toilet graffiti I've ever seen appeared to be a conversation between a militant atheist and a spelling nazi.

I GAVE UP DIETY WORSHIP ABOUT THE TIME I GAVE UP BELIEVING IN SANTA!

    LEARN TO SPELL YOU IDIYET!

That's disgusting! While I don't support putting cameras in restrooms, I have a feeling we're heading in that direction. If disgruntled customers are able to be caught in the place of business causing trouble, then what's to keep them from being caught in a public restroom?

My favorite graffiti of all time came from the public bathroom of a mall I used to work in. Taken word for word, misspellings and all:

All ya lil kids suck and you have no idea

all's Fare in Love and War<-----True Dat

    (and my personal favorite):

I Wrote on the Wall--Take THAT Society!
