I recently got another job at a casino resort on top of my motel job to help break even plus we've been notified that the motel is shutting down this year.
Anyway, I have definitely underestimated the work load that comes through high end places like these. Plus I may need to reel in my attitude.
This week has been particularly strenuous as some of the staff have caught Covid and I got called in to cover shorted days.
I'm just gonna shoot out my annoyances through a lightning round. SOme of these happened in the same night.
Coming in half an hour before closing time and ordering the 5 course banquet and cluttering the table with wine and beer glasses.
Being surprised that there is too much food that comes with said banquet.
Ordering two live fish dishes and then asking to have one saved for later AS IT'S PUT ON THE TABLE.
Asking to change the how the leftover Peking duck is cooked WHILE IT'S BEING CHOPPPED UP IN THE KITCHEN.
Not finalizing your order and asking for a different type of soup with your order.
Leaving your phones on the table and taking up space for the plates.
Not remembering your orders.
Demanding for an olive in the martini when our restaurant has no olives.
Asking for French wine by the glass, ordering the local variety anyway and calling it disgusting.
I could go on and on but I think I'm too exhausted to do so.
Seriously, what is it with rich people eating dinner so late at night?
I think I may need to reel in my attitude if I don't want my manager to drop me. I should have known what I was expecting when I signed up for this.
