I don't really have a need for a generator, but I could wake up tomorrow and be without electricity for ten days.
I live in a land lock state, so I don't have to worry about hurricanes, but we do have major issues with ice storms. We are gearing up for one tonight, I kinda wished I did have a generator.

I have never heard of returning hardware supplies like this at the end of a 'season' you can always use them in another way, another season. The only benefits to the consumer I can see are a.) They receive cash back immediately b.) they don't have to worry about a warranty expiring on an item they may only use once a year.

The Sears I used to work at, two weeks before Super Bowl weekend the manager would go around and put Tie straps thru the holes on the prongs on the plugs of all big screen TV’s. That way if someone opened it and used it, we would only offer an exchange for another big screen. This stopped people from “renting” them for free to watch the game on.

My FAVORITE story from then was the husband that “rented” one from us. When we refused to take it back he was in a panic. His wife was going to KILL him for spending $2500 on a TV. He talked the manager into a deal. He exchanged the TV for a washer and dryer. The wife did not kill him.

That's a great idea, and I think managers of all stores that sell big screen TV's, or any TV, should be able to follow up on this idea. Thing is though, I'm sure others out there would say something like "It wasn't working when I plugged it in", but then go into a panic when the manager decides to test it out for himself.

The washer and dryer exchange....now that's funny!
