People like this completely ruin things for people who genuinely need a break.

Just tip her out of the dumpster?

I suspect that she’s a gambling addict who turned to grifting to support her habit.

She lives half a block from the bank (or at least that’s where she’s getting mail) so if we need to collect from her, it shouldn’t be too hard.

    Customers just aren't worth trusting.

They said gambling websites, so I'm betting it's a gambling addict...

So which is this one: a grifter, a gambling addict or the world's worst personal finance manger?

    Never trust new customers

I should know better than to trust new customers.

I opened a checking account and debit card for a new customer last week. Her credit was bad, but she seemed cool, so I gave her the benefit of the doubt. By yesterday, she had drained the account and overdrew it about $400. And it was mostly PayPal transactions and gambling sites. So much for needing this money to care for her daughter. 😡

I should have either said we couldn’t open the account or said just a savings account, no debt card. Not that the debit card really made a difference. She hadn’t even received it yet. I should have put a new account hold on the check, too. She wouldn’t have been able to withdraw the funds for 9 business days.

I’ve probably said this before, but I am never trusting a customer again.
Working...
