That being said, I DO haul around a lot of stuff, and use the versatility of my SUV in ways that may or may not have been envisioned by the designers. On road trips it is invaluable, serving as not only a giant suitcase, but also an emergency bed, a writing studio, a lookout post, a reading room, etc. For someone who doesn't off-road, I really do make full (suburban) use of my SUV.

Just a thought.

Cause it all depends on what roads you're taking (& how fast you drive). After all, it takes longer to reach J's house after he moved closer, because you have to drive through 3 podunk towns on podunk roads after you get off the highway to get there. He lives X miles closer but it takes Y minutes longer to get there. When I say podunk, I mean podunk. The state atlas doesn't have his road name listed. And on-line driving directions? Better use the nearest cross street because they don't list his road at all.
