I agree the younger woman should have been tended to but here's where I differ. The woman that was getting yelled at should have done the tending. She should have turned around and told loud-mouth to shut up. If you won't stand up for yourself why should anyone else?

It might not be that she simply refuses to stand up for herself. It could be that for whatever reason she feels that she can't stand up for herself. Some people, for various reasons, feel that they are not entitled to defend themselves. This could be due to lack of self esteem or simply because they are unequipped to handle this kind of situation. Maybe she actually believed that she was being a hold-up for everyone else and felt bad for angering the other woman. There could be a lot of factors at play here. Just a thought. The point here is that the younger woman was unnecessarily impatient and just plain rude.
