ok, my turn to ask if I'm crossing the line. I sent this email off to UTA complaining about their bus service this morning.
The route 39 going west pulled into the meadowbrook station at about 8:38, 3 minutes before route 41 is supposed to leave and the bus had already left. In all honesty at 8:35 when we were at the stop light at 3900 south and west temple I didn't see the 41 bus in the station. I remember the specific times because I was worried about missing the connection and getting off the bus thinking that 41 must be a few minutes late. It is apparent however that either it left at least 5 minutes early or it did not run at all because the bus I finally did catch came through at only a few minutes before 9 (only a few minutes late for the bus after the one I should have been able to connect with). About just over 5 minutes before that though one of the new hybrid busses came through (and most of the people at the station, myself included were saying thank God the bus is finally here) and the driver just pulled around ran into what I believe is the employee restroom and ran out and drove off again. I'm confused, if it is the case of a driver being sick or something like that the bus not being able to run, but why then wouldn't this bus that isn't doing anything else be put on the route or if it was the case of the driver being really late why wouldn't he have picked up passengers, and I have no idea how that would fit into the driver being there and leaving over 5 minutes early. This entire episode is giving me very little confidence in using the UTA system, especially considering the recent rate hikes. I guess all I really would appreciate is an explanation of what was going on and how I can avoid getting into the same situation again.
-though I will admit the person I called at about 8:50 on the phone I was really sucky with, it's not included in the email but you know, she was just as sucky back and she works a union job for a government agency, she's paid more than enough to deal with it (oh and by sucky, I mean I was loud and angry, I did not though use profanities or insult her personally, both things that at my job we must tolerate to a certain extent, first time let it off, second time ask them to stop, third time warn them you will hang up, fourth time hang up).
