At a National high school thing in DC I asked one of the other students where Rhode Island was. He thought I was mocking how small the state is. I protested, 'No, I'm just really bad at geography.' However, while I'm from a fellow east coast state, mine was about 6 states away, if you go directly up the coastline. It's not like I was from Massachusetts & asking.

Once my friend, who lives in West Virginia, was calling a credit card company to apply for her first credit card over the phone, at some point the phone operative mentioned she was in or from Florida. Anyway, they asked her which state she lived in so they could put it on the card application, when she said 'West Virgina', the person said 'That's not a state, and this residence does not exist in Virgina.'

Well, they wouldn't have had a problem figuring out which one was us after Super Tuesday. The Democratic Party here just barely finished counting the votes Thursday (14 Feb)....more than a week after the caucus. Mainly because our "brilliant" Gov. Bill Richardson decided a couple of years ago that it would be oh-so-much-better if we got rid of our electronic voting machines and went back to paper ballots! Add that to the old Will Rogers saying about the Democrats....
