    A complaint?! Against me?!

    My boss just walked into my office and calmly told me about a complaint that come in; supposedly, I told the customer that I was the manager and couldn't help them with something.

    I told my boss I never tell people that I'm the manager and that I'm not the kind of person who would do that. I go out of my way to help customers!

    He said he would print out the complaint because I started musing that it may be a complaint from the Shoe Witch, he thinks it may be too but never looked. I'll find out either later today or tomorrow when I get back into work. I just had to blow some steam first...

    Never, EVER has anyone complained about me! I'm always the uber helpful one! I'll post again later to let you know what it was about.

        Thanks but I doubt I can blame it on you. I'll know more tomorrow. Lets hope it's something merely stupid because I have a great track record of being a good employee!

          two things, who's the shoe bitch? and don't look at me... i'm not guest relations yet so I couldn't have been the person who handled the complaint (and I think you work a different chain anyway)

              Why do SC's lie...don't they realize it interferes with someone's life? No...of course they don't care...

              But if it ever happened to them? Oh hell no!!!!

                I used to pose as the manager all the time. They were quite relieved when I did that, they said it saved them the bother of dealing with an SC

                  Same here. When things were good at the chinese place I was told to pull the manager card when an EW or belligerent customer started acting up. It was fun. I didn't have to take crap from anyone.

                    Ah, Queenie, I'm sorry you're going through this. At the same time, if it helps any, all of us who deal with other people as part of a job get complained against at some point. Most managers are bright enough to spot a complaint that is mostly BS, and it sounds like your manager realizes that the complaint isn't like you. If he thought it was serious, you would have known it. The worst thing about any job is when you have to defend yourself against an outright falsehood. Keep your chin up, and try not to dwell on it too much.

                      I got an update from Mrs. M when I came into work this morning. Still no sign of the complaint since she was unable to print it out for me but as soon as I do I'll be sure to tell you guys about it.

                      It would seem that the complaint wasn't about me, but my boss! He just assumed the complaint was about me because it had my name on it; to which Mrs. M told me that the customers were relieved that I was there because it seemed that the manager (my boss) didn't know how to work the computer. They said I was competent and nice to them. She told my boss that the complaint was about him and he still doesn't believe it. Oh well, you know how bosses are.

                      So when my boss comes in and finally prints off the complaint; I get to act the wounded puppy and say he lied to me.

                          Crazeyal, you have no idea how much he thinks I'm upset over this -- I am, honestly, really upset over it but I'm not going to let it get to me. I've pulled the pissed off card, the upset card and tomorrow (because the coward managed to slink away again without giving me the printout; still insisting there's a complaint and a compliment) I pull the "I'm so stressed and worried sick about it" card.

                          Mwa-hahahahahaha!
