Hello everyone, here to post some stories I've heard, mainly from my brother
as you can guess from this threads title, this is about one of the banes of working at shopping centers, (or even being the shopper yourself in some cases!!!) or malls. yes... it's the infamous "we're a bunch of immature spoiled brats, pardon us as we wreck the store!" stories...
Now, my brother works at a certain sporting goods store located at the nearby mall..and always theres one group of kids, droped of at the mall by their parents because they don't want to deal with them.... sadly some of these "kids" turn out to be over 20 yrs old (let me give you the idea here, I'm 19, my brother is 21....yea....>.>)
So here are some stories he's told me:
"Someone call the NCAA woman's basketball team and the U.S. Department for the Blind and vision impaired!"
Brother: who do you think?
SG : Stupid girl
My brother was walking the floor that night, helping out any customers that request it. However when he passes by the aisle that holds basketballs, the baskets themselves, and some soccer balls, he notices a group of girls, all look about maybe 17-19 yrs old, playing with the basket balls and trying to shoot hoops into the basket.... make note, all around this aisle, are at least 2 signs that tell people to not do this, let alone play with the balls at all (it's a ball, they are all going to work the same if inflated properly. you do not need to "Test it" )
Brother: "pardon me, but please stop doing that
SG: realizing that she and her groupies have been caught* "Stop What?"
Brother: "Playing with the basketball and trying to shoot it into the hoop"
SG: "You can't tell me what to do! I'm F*ing 21
Bro: *looks bemused that for a 21 yr old, the girl is acting like a little brat* "Oh... but I can, didn't you see the signs?"
SG: "What Signs?!?!"
at this point, my brother points out the 2 signs in plain view, clear as daylight that say "Do not Play/dribble/kick/shoot the balls" sign that are maybe 5-10 feet away from this group.
SG: "WHAT!?!?!
Bro: "As I was saying... stop playing with the balls"
SG: "B..bu...but... I wasn't playing with them!
Bro: "Yes you were, now, we can go 3 ways with this. 1. you do as requested, and go back to LOOKING at the merchandise and not playing with them. or 2. We go into me telling you to "Get out"
SG: Stop treating me like some damn kid! I'm F*ing 21 you *expletive* idiot
Bro: Well theres strike 2 and 3 there, 1. your acting like one, thinking you deserve special treatment. 2. There are little kids and families in the store, it's against our company policy to let such rude and lewd behavior in our store such as your swearing. So... I suggest you Get out now...
once again, the I'm *expletive* 21 arguement comes out.
Bro: "Ok... well I still have a few options left, you can now either leave the store, escorted by me, OR. I can call mall security, I'm sure they'll be glad to escort you, or contact the local police, who's station is right around the corner from this mall should you give them in trouble ."
Guess which one was the more appealing option to her and her group, apparently they weren't interested in getting a new pair of bracelets (conviently kept close together by a chain and locking mechanism) on their wrist...
