I strongly doubt he would. Guys like this never do learn that their behavior is wrong.

Oh I know. Just a thought. People like him end up going to jail for assault, get out and it generally just fuels their anger. *IF* someone like that had a good smacking around, they would hopefully get the clue that they can't go around hunting people down and punching their wives out for no reason.

The woman is telling the father what happened, when all of a sudden, he LUNGES at her! He starts swinging at her, hitting her in the face and chest! She runs.

The mom tries to stop him, but he turns around, PUNCHES HIS WIFE DEAD IN THE FACE, and runs after the woman.

Good thing I wasn't there. And especially not the guy who got shoved down. Someone would have found themselves on the very wrong end of my anger.
