I've been know to stand and watch my youngest (not quite 3, so he still gets a little slack) throw himself on the floor and scream when he doesn't get his way. Of course, I have to try hard not to laugh my @$$ off at him, since he just looks so silly. The oldest has learned better (he's 10), and now we only see those fits if he's already exhausted and/or starving. Not acceptable, but understandable.

Also, if you didn't already know , I think it's McCains that makes smiley fries, over in the frozen fries section of the grocery store. Special treat for the boys when they're on sale.
Mine is five, too old for such nonsense. :/ I don't understand why she thinks she is going to get what she wants because it has never worked for her. We do know she is severely ADHD, but that really does not excuse the behavior.

I wonder if this person is related to the guy on PFB who complained that McD's stopped serving breakfast when they normally do.

you sound like you got lucky with your roommates like I did with mine... I have a roommate who LOVES to cook so she is always cooking enough for everyone... she even will let it slide that I almost never return the favor because she knows that I have no problem doing the chores she hates... namely taking out the trash (I think I got the better end of that deal, but to each their own).
Yeah, I think I lucked out. To be honest, neither one of us is overly big on cooking, though she does cook more than I do. We don't generally cook for each other but if one of us makes something like baked ziti we offer to share; we share bags of chips and ice cream, stuff like that.

they can't help wash them because they're allergic to mold spores.
Wait, so they can sleep with them but they can't wash them? Are they allergic to dish soap, too? I think they should add a big package of paper plates to their next shopping list.

I tend to be cluttered, but not filthy.
Me too. I might live with a few dust bunnies and pull half my clothes out of the laundry basket instead of the closet when I'm getting dressed in the morning, but I don't have things growing in my bedroom. (Speaking of which, one of my friends in college left a mug of oatmeal on the TV table one night and forgot about it. The next day we left for Spring Break. Her roommate found it when she got back. It was green. Yeah, that mug went right in the trash.)

I think some parents believe they are advocating for thier children when they pull stunts like this.
Advocating for your children is standing up for their rights and well-being. Teaching them that life owes them whatever they want won't help their well-being in the long run. It only makes them stop crying for now.

It works...so does laughing at the kid throwing the tantrums.
I like that idea a lot. Next time I see a kid doing that I'll stop, point and laugh at him till he stops. And no I really mean it, I'm saying this without sarcasm. Then if the parent objects I'll point and laugh at them. What can they do to me, I'm not an employee. I can defend myself too just in case.

                  Oh, it's real.

                  Quoth somebody full of win

What a fucking bitch! I have a degree from Duke! My husband makes
three times as much as her! BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH. You asked for
fucking WAFFLES at a Chili's. How fucking retarded are you and your
husband and your son...apple doesn't fall far from the tree I guess.
Apparently they don't teach common sense at Duke. Waffles require
SPECIAL EQUIPMENT to make, which Chili's DOES NOT have. That is what
your server tried to explain to you but you guys just didn't wanna
hear what she had to say. If I was your server, I would have told you
to go fuck yourself, right in front of your stupid kid. It would have
been worth getting fired to teach your elitist bitch ass a lesson.
I can't believe this comment hasn't been zapped. It conveys my feelings toward the letter writer better than I ever could.

That waffle story must be fake. Esp. about the waitress saying she was reprimaned, then she was found kissing the manager. How did that letter even get on the website? Would an exec. of Chili's done it? Or the idiot Dora done it? It's like reading something on Snopes.com.

But if it was real, wow. She gave her name, it's probably easy to find in ReferenceUSA. though the first sentence said they made a trip to Durham, then she said that she went to Duke, that's why they were in Durham, but that wouldn't make sense unless she lived there...

Yeah, it took me a bit to find it. Their search function isn't too user-friendly.

Irv - the letter is from a year and a half ago...maybe they weren't so strict back then?

I actually have it open in another tab so I can amuse myself reading the responses again if I get bored.
