  • Was that really nessisary?

I know I don't post often, or appear often, but here's another one from the great line of receptionist work.

40min before we close, I get a phone call, and I start to feel as if I should be paying her, for calling me.

I hear, "oooohhh, mmmmfff, uuuuuhhhh, oooooofff" all, before I can even get my greeting out. I get my greeting out there, and I hear someone scramble and pick up the phone, and she says, in a tired/breathy voice, "Yeah, I need to place an order." So I transfer her call to the appropriate person, and ask later. Turns out, she sounded fine, to the CSA that I sent her to.

Now there's some tallent. Wonder if she gets paid double for "servicing" others and ordering office supplies at the same time.

    Eeew.

Reminds me of when I worked at my last fast food job.....most customers did not realize that the ordering station not only was piped into our headsets.....but also to large speakers on the wall for the benefit of the kitchen crew.....and anybody else who was listening.

They also were very notorious for picking up background noise better than the customer directly placing the order.....we all overheard more than one X-rated conversation coming from the backseat!

Either that or she called you from on the toilet. Either way it's worthy of a or two.

one would hope they'd finish before they called.

... i guess you can pretend she'd been reading Mac Format Magazine and had dropped it just seconds before you picked up... which would of course explain the odd breaths and grunts.
