  • Mcdonalds, where berating the staff is customary

This one happened a long time ago in a mcdonalds not too far away. It was my first job, I had started there when I was 14 and I was 17 then. We were in a mall food court, right next to an arby's. Our store had been there 3 years and apparently took alot of business away from them, from what they say. Thier store manager was this 30 something grubby looking guy, always wore a dirty t-shirt and looked as if he hadn't shaved for a week. Every day he would complain to anyone who would listen, about how much mcdonalds sucked and the service sucked and the workers there sucked, and how arby's was always fast and friendly. But, for some odd reason lol, he seemed to go to our horrible mcdonalds every morning for breakfast and complain while he was there and harass all the employees. There's the background.

Now that morning I had come in early like a good little worker and opened the store by myself because the opening manager that day always came in late and hung over. It was just me and him on for breakfast and he had been on the phone with his girlfriend for about an hour so far, while I was running counter and grill bt myself, which I didn't mind I loved doing it actually, cause I was pretty quick and got props from the customers alot lol. Well that morning was particularly busy and I was running a little behind, all the old people kept making the coffee run out as soon as it was made, stupid senior discount("I lived through this and that and stayed alive and was part of the generation that royally screwed the world, I deserve a discounted coffee). But they never knew I hated them.

Well I had just taken this old ladies order, guess what, a senior coffee that she thought was too expensive anyways. I'm running around trying to get everything done and making sure the food stayed stocked, I went to pour her coffee and the arby's manager was behind her and yelled out at that point to complain about the speed of service I turned around and accidently poured the coffee on my hand, ow. I grabbed some napkins and put them on the counter and then grabbed a little ice for my hand, and taped it on my hand, that all took 25-30 seconds maybe, and the whole time the guy was heckling me saying that the ladie shouldn't have to wait this long just because we had incompetant employees, and how at arby's they always serve thier customers fast, and at this point I reeeeaaaally want to throw the coffee machine at him, but I kept my cool pretty good and just turned around and said, "yeah, both of your customers get great service" The he started yelling at me and swearing and the manager finally came up front, saw the look on my face and told me to go take a break and check on my hand.

I went out back and thanked God when I heard my manager completely reaming arby's guy out, telling him he was never welcome back at our store, and that whe wouldn't have to see his ugly face at all soon because his store was closing for lack of sales. Arby's guy was escorted out of the mall for causeing a scene and had to have someone else do all his work for the next month, because he mall kicked him out for a month! Yay! Nothing could ruin my day then, and that perma-smile on my face was real the whole day. The arby's ended up closing two months later and I havent seen the guy since.

It's always nice to be in the audience when someone gets what he deserves, isn't it?

Nice first post and welcome to CS!
The best karma is letting a jerk bash himself senseless on the wall of your polite indifference.

The stupid is strong with this one.

Gee, do you think there might be a connection between the manager's appearance and attitude and the lack of business at his Arby's? (sarcasm)

Wow, with his attitude, I'm surprised that Arby's didn't close sooner. Unless he dressed up and acted better at ARby's.
Time! Time! Time is what turns kittens into cats.

Don't teach me a lesson; all I learn is that you are an asshole.
